The player must score a touchdown in the time allotted to go from high school and college ball all the way to the Pros and the Super Bowl.

You control a bi-plane whose object is to shoot wave upon wave of pre-historic monsters. At the end of each level there is a BOSS monster which you must destroy in order to continue.

Control a WWII-style plane over 32 vertically-scrolling sea and landscapes. Shoot various types of enemy planes. Collect a variety of weapon powerups.

The players control WWII planes in this 2-D vertically scrolling shooter. Missions are flown alternately in the clouds against enemy planes and over water where there player must also disable enemy ships. There are many different weapons available via powerups.

Keep opponent from getting to your base while at the same time you go for his. Various nasties and weapons are formed by picking up colored dots scattered around the screen.

Alien Invader [ Universal 1979, VVC, unique, 2P ]

Space side-to-side shooting game that is very similar to Galaxian. However, as last alien leaves the "rack", it transforms into a larger bat-like creature as it swoops down.

Eliminate hoards of nasty aliens that have infested the local streets and buildings. Move your crosshairs around the screen and shoot just about anything that moves. Roll out of the way to avoid alien attacks.

A basic vertical shooter. Collects parts to form other more powerful ships but you can only transform when you have gathered up enough energy. To gather energy, you must destroy land targets with bombs which explode and provide power-ups. Similar to Xevious both in looks and game play.

Alpine Racer [ Namco 1995, HRC, unique, 1P ]

Checkpoint-style racing game, featuring realistic physics, unique controls and an unusual genre for a racing game. Features three separate courses and your choice of speed or gate racing. Cool replay feature for finishing #1.

Alpine Ski [ Taito 1981, VRC, Taito, 1P ]

Maneuver a skier through a downhill ski course, a slalom course, and a ski jumping competition.

Altered Beast [ Sega 1988, HRC, Sega System 16, 2P ]

You are a hero risen from the dead on a mission to rescue Zeus' daughter from the clutches of an evil magician. Horizontally scrolling beat 'em up. Collect power-ups and transform into different animals.

Ameri Darts [ AmeriCorp 1989, ERC, JAMMA+, 4P ]

Darts are positioned with the Trac Ball, locked using an illuminated "Lock" button and thrown by rolling the trac-ball. There are five different game variations including: FLASH (A Bull's Eye Game), Sector Shoot-Out (a numbered target game), 301 (the traditional darts game), High Score, and Cricket (a game of innings/points). The game also includes comical sequences that let the player know when they've done well/badly.

Amidar [ Stern 1982, VRC, Konami, 2P ]

You are on a screen full of boxes with dots on the edges. Collect the dots to fill in the boxes, avoiding the Amidars who are chasing you. Fill in all the boxes to complete the level. The next level you are a paint roller, painting the edges of the boxes.

Anti-Aircraft II [ Atari 1975, HRB, unique, 2P ]

Players control the aiming and firing of anti-aircraft guns. One or two planes fly past as players compete to shoot down the greatest number of aircraft.

Arabian [ Atari 1983, VRC, unique, 2P ]

You play an adventurous Arabian prince and your goal is to rescue the princess from her palace. In your quest you will sail the seas, crawl in caves and fly magic carpets. Score points on the way for picking up the letters in "A-R-A-B-I-A-N" and get a bonus if they are collected in order.

Arabian Fight [ Sega 1992, HRC, JAMMA+, 4P ]

Using one of four sprite-based humanoid characters overlayed on several layers of scrolling backgrounds, the player punches, kicks and jumps over enemies in a simulated 3-D playfield as he seeks to save a princess from a magician. Power-ups enable use of magic and recharging of life energy.

Arch Rivals [ Bally Midway 1989, HRC, unique, 2P ]

A one-on-one basketball game that bascially follows the normal rules, but does not account for fouls. Players can actually fight for control of the ball. The game was released with a "Hometown Heros" kit that allowed customization of the game's teams' names and colors.

Argus [ Jaleco 1986, VRC, unique, 2P ]

A vertical scrolling shoot 'em up. Fire guns and drop bombs on the enemies in this deep space battle. Pickup assorted power ups. The screen also scrolls left and right if your ship nears the edges of the screen.

Arkanoid [ Taito 1986, VRC, Taito, 2P ]

This is a variation on an early video game "BrickOut" A paddle moves left and right at the bottom of the screen, a ball is deflected to hit bricks. Some bricks contain special powers to enhance play. Next level achieved by removing all bricks.

Arkanoid 2: Revenge of Doh [ Taito 1987, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

The player must continue to deflect a ball upwards to eliminate a number of blocks on the screen. Some tiles release special power-ups that upgrade the player's paddle or slow down the ball. After all the blocks have been destroyed, a player may choose one of two screens at the completion of a level.

Arm Wrestling [ Nintendo 1985, HRC, unique, 1P ]

The player faces off against a beefy Texan, a Sumo, a masked fighter, a robot, and a mutant in a series of arm-wrestling contests. Timing and quick joystick motions are key to victory.

Armor Attack [ Cinematronics 1980, HVO, Cinematronics B&W Vector, 2P ]

Bird's eye view of a war-torn city, the jeep you are driving, and the tanks you are trying to destroy. Uses a black and white vector monitor and a color overlay.

Armored Car [ Stern 1981, VRC, Konami, 2P ]

Overhead view of city streets that you drive a money van (armoured car) through as it scrolls from right to left. Some intersections are marked with directions. You pick up money to deliver to banks while avoiding criminals by dropping saw horses in roadway. Fuel levels must be replenished at gas stations along the way.

Art of Fighting [ SNK 1992, HRC, Neo-Geo - JAMMA, 2P ]

This is a one- or two-player martial arts fighting game. Single player games fight battles with computer controlled opponents to rescuse the girl called "Yuri". In two-player games players fight eachother.

Assault [ Atari 1988, VRC, JAMMA, 1P ]

Player's tank must obliterate 11 waves of enemy vehicles in mountain and city terrains. Top view rotates around tank, keeping orientation upward. Jump on lift pads to rise above landscape and drop devastating nukes.

Asteroids [ Atari 1979, HVB, unique, 2P ]

Your space craft is dangerously situated among fast moving asteroids in an asteroid belt that can destroy your ship on contact. Armed with a front mounted weapon and the ability to hyperspace, you fly through the debris, destroying each rock one piece at a time. Alien saucers visit the playfield from time to time with an eye towards destroying your ship!

Asteroids Deluxe [ Atari 1980, HVO, unique, 2P ]

Pilot a spaceship equipped with shields and auto-fire as you blast through level after level of rotating asteroids. UFOs and multi-segmented Killer Satellites take chase, searching for an opportunity to destroy your ship.

Astro Blaster [ Sega/Gremlin 1981, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Multi-wave colour raster shoot-em-up. Features include speech, warp button which slows enemies, docking (to refuel), and secret bonuses to learn. Laser temperature must also be monitored since overheating renders ship unable to fire!

Astro Fighter [ Sega/Gremlin 1980, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Standard scrolling/shooting game with five waves of enemies that proceed down the screen. The addition of a fuel limitation adds to the urgency of the game, requiring that you eliminate all of each wave of enemies in order to make it to the final level with enough fuel.

Astron Belt [ Sega 1983, HRC, unique, 1P ]

Interactive laser disc space battle game with computer generated overlaid graphics. Control a space craft to defend against attacking enemy waves then destroy the enemy command ship. Huge explosions. Video from a Toei Film.

Ataxx [ Leland 1990, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A 1- or 2-player strategy game based on a 7x7 tiled grid. A Player attempts to secure a greater number of tiles than his/her opponent by moving his/her playing pieces in a manner similar to checkers.

Atomic Boy [ Irem 1985, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Climb around lattice of pipes to deactivate power switches for main computer while avoiding robots. Jump on generators to send out disrupters and kill robots.

Atomic Punk [ Irem 1991, HRC, JAMMA+, 4P ]

Robot player moves around various mazes placing bombs to create new pathways and destroy enemies.

Aurail [ Sega 1990, HRC, Sega System 16, 3P ]

Pilot a super tank of the future, that looks like a battle mek, and blow everything up. Game features a top-down perspective and also tunnel levels with a first-person view. Collect power-ups to increase shields and operate the remote attack drone.

Avengers [ Capcom 1987, VRC, Capcom, 2P ]

Paradise City was over run by Geshita and his men. You must help Ryu and Ko rescue the hostages held captive in Geshita's palace. Punch and kick your way through lots of enemies and pick up the hidden weaponry found behind some doors.

Aztarac [ Centuri 1983, HVC, unique, 2P ]

Color vector space game where the player pilots a ship, defending the Starbase from attacking alien ships. The ship's flight direction and firing is controlled by a joystick with a trigger (similar to Gorf). Firing direction is controlled by a spinner. The ship stays at the center of the screen while scrolling in a large playfield in eight directions.

B. Rap Boys [ Kaneko 1992, HRC, JAMMA+, 3P ]

Using one of three sprite-based humanoid characters overlayed on several layers of scrolling backgrounds, the vehicle-riding player punches, kicks and jumps over enemies in a simulated 3-D playfield as he seeks to defeat a crime boss and his minions. Sampled voices and rap music were the game's biggest draw.

Baby Pac-Man [ Bally Midway 1982, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Baby Pac-Man avoids ghosts and eats his way through a maze devoid of power pellets. These power-ups can only be earned by dropping into the pinball section. When a ball drains in the pinball section, play returns to the video mode.

Bad Dudes [ Data East 1988, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Two street fighters must battle their way past hoards of attacking enemies in their pursuit to defeat the evil Dragon Ninja. Players must defeat end-of-level bosses, one of which is Karnov himself!

Fight through seven levels of ninjas and bosses. Red ninjas drop weapons and Coke cans.

Your character is a robber. Run around a mine collecting moneybags and depositing them in a wheelbarrow at the top of the screen. Climb ladders and ride elevators to avoid two angry miners. Grab pickaxes to temporarily stun your pursuers.

Bank Panic [ Sega 1984, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Old west bank theme. You're the law enforcement "HERO!" and must protect the bank from robbers while letting citizens make deposits. Scrolls left or right with three doors on-screen at a time. One fire button for each door. Background music is "Dixie."

Basketball [ Atari 1979, HRB, Atari B&W Raster, 2P ]

One on one basketball between two players or one player and computer. Giant "Atari Trak Ball" (TM) and one button for control. "Sweet Georgia Brown" at tip-off. Crowd roars with every successful shot.

Batman [ Atari Games 1990, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

The player controls Batman who advances through various stages that are taken from the 1989 movie. Stages include views from the Batmobile and the Batcopter and the final stage is a battle with the Joker. The intermissions feature digitized voices from the actors and photos from the film.

Battle Lane Vol. 5 [ Taito 1986, VRC, Data East, 2P ]

A six-stage game where you ride a motorcycle and shoot at enemy vehicles. Enter the enemy's base and destroy their secret weapon. Pick up bazookas for extra fire power.

Battle Toads [ Rare Coins Inc. 1994, HRC, JAMMA, 3P ]

Cartoon-like toads, named Pimple, Zitz, and Rash, beat up mice. Each toad has it's own unique super-move. A quarter-pumper with great sound and graphics.

Battleshark [ Taito 1989, HMC, unique, 1P ]

The game begins under water and you are a sub commander with a veiw of the underwater world through a periscope. Later in the game you surface and have to shoot ships and planes. Good colors and vocals.

Battlezone [ Atari 1980, HVO, unique, 1P ]

Using wire models on a vector display with a green and red overlay, a battle with opposing tanks, missiles and the occasional saucer is simulated among pyramids and cubes. The 1812 overture plays during high score.

Beastie Feastie [ Cardinal Amusement Products 1984, VRC, Namco Galaxian, 2P ]

Guide the insatiable Toby through corridors, up and down the elevators and through the side tunnels in his never-ending search for snacks. An assortment of crafty animals relentlessly pursue Toby and fight him for control of the elevators. Stop them or avoid them and munch a dozen different snacks to clear the 24 unique levels.

Bermuda Triangle [ SNK 1987, VRC, JAMMA+, 2P ]

This game is a vertical-scrolling (forward and backward) shooter. It uses rotary-style joysticks to control the ships turret.

Berzerk [ Stern 1980, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Humanoid player runs through maze-like rooms, destroying robots while avoiding their fire. The indestructable Evil Otto is the game's timer, forcing the player to move on. One of the first talking games, remember "Get the Humanoid!"?

BiPLANE [ Fun Games Inc. 1976, HRB, unique, 2P ]

The game requires two players. Play consists of a black and a white BiPLANE that was steered like a tank. The object was to shoot the other player without crashing into either the ground or the anti-aircraft fire at the top of the screen.

You command Bio-Ship Paladin, a heavily armored battleship with impressive firepower and defenses. Pilot the Paladin into an enemy solar system and destroy its many heavy warships. Collect power-ups to add armor and firepower.

Bionic Commando [ Capcom 1987, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Use your bionic arm to climb through levels and shoot enemies. Collect parachuting weapons and bonus point items that fall from the sky.

Black Tiger [ Capcom 1987, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Barbarian runs about in a horizontally oriented playfield, collecting coins with which he can buy upgrades for his armor, whip-like weapon, keys for treasure chests, and anti-poisoning potions. Special items that give coins, upgraded armor or points may be found by whipping walls.

Black Widow [ Atari 1982, HVC, Atari Color Vector, 2P ]

As a spider in the center of the web, you must defend it and yourself from invading bugs. These foes will try to run into you, blow you up if shoot them, or fire rockets at you if you don't kill the other enemies!

Blasted [ Midway 1988, HRC, Midway Mono Board, 2P ]

Using your high-powered scope rifle, blast aliens and other bad guys who have invaded an apartment complex, but be careful not to shoot the tenants or get hit by return fire. In two-player mode, you shoot at your opponent's building and he shoots at yours.

Blaster [ Williams 1983, HRC, unique, 2P ]

First-person shooter. Use a 49-way optical flight control/joystick with thrust and fire buttons to fly through different levels (space, time warp, asteroid fields, etc.) shooting various enemies, objects, and picking up lost spacemen. Receive extra points for shooting all enemies in a wave, flying through obstacles, and reaching level 20, "Paradise".

Blasteroids [ Atari Games 1987, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Players move from one sector to the next clearing each of asteroids and assorted targets while collecting energy cells and assorted weapons enhancements.

Block Out [ Technos 1989, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

3-D game where you place different shaped blocks in a grid. Filling spaces on a grid level eliminates those blocks, while others stack up against you. You can rotate blocks 3 different directions before placing them. Has new-age background music and an ominous, talking Max Headroom character.

Blockade [ Gremlin 1976, HRO, unique, 2P ]

Using an arrow, each player draws lines around the screen trying to trap the other player leaving him no room to move. Play stops once the other player crashes into a wall or another line.

Blood Brothers [ TAD 1991, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

The setting is the wild west. You move a crosshairs and shoot at objects on a stationary screen. Your player can duck and roll on a one dimensional plane. There are five levels containing four sub-levels each. A boss must be defeated before advancing to the next level.

BloodStorm [ Strata 1994, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Another side-scrolling two-player street-fighting game. Eight different characters are fighting to become the new Emperor of a desolate world following the murder of the old one. Includes gaining new powers and a password feature.

Bloxeed [ Sega 1990, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A puzzle game much like Tetris. Sort falling blocks, rotating them however you wish, to complete rows across the screen.

Blue Print [ Bally Midway 1982, VRC, unique, 2P ]

You control a character that must search houses to find pieces of machine. There are a variety of antagonists that impede your progress including monsters and bombs. Once you've assembled the machine according to the blueprint, use it to shoot the monster that is chasing your girlfriend.

Body Slam [ Sega 1986, HRC, Sega System 16, 2P ]

Female wrestling starring some VERY ugly women!

Bomb Jack [ Tehkan 1984, VRC, Tehkan, 2P ]

A platform game where the object is to collect bombs. Extra bonuses are awarded for collecting bombs with their fuses lit. When you get killed you drop to the nearest platform always landing on your head. Levels begin to repeat after level 18.

Bombjack Twin [ NMK Co. Ltd 1993, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Two players at the same time adds a new twist to this platform game. Collect the bombs in order and get a huge bonus.

Bonze Adventure [ Taito 1988, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A platform game where the player controls a Japanese monk. His weapons are bubbles of various colours which can be powered up until they become almost as large as the player. The monk battles snakes, giant eyeballs, ghosts and other enemy creatures.

Boomer Rang'r [ Data East 1983, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Caveman running around tossing his boomerang and other cavemen and creatures. Pick up potions to spell out BOOMER RANG'R to move to next level. For even more fun, kill a dinosaur rider and mount his dinosaur!

Boot Camp [ Konami 1987, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Army recruit gets to work his way through basic training, with events like obstacle courses, shooting, etc. Fail to make the grade and the sergeant politely asks you to "Go home to yer mother!" to which you reply "Darn!"

Boot Hill [ Midway 1977, HRB, Midway 8080, 2P ]

Bosconian [ Midway 1981, HRC, Namco Galaga, 2P ]

Overhead view of a bowling lane. Players can select either flash or regulation bowling. Players can also choose between either straight or hook shots. Displays "Beer Frame" on fifth and tenth frames.

Break Thru [ Data East 1986, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Pilot a military vehicle, equipped with super jump capability, through enemy territory. You must traverse dangerous mountain passes, bomb-torn bridges, harsh jungle and fortified cities to rescue your PK430 aircraft.

Breakout [ Atari 1976, VRO, unique, 2P ]

A ball-and-paddle game where the object is to collect points while hitting a ball towards a wall of bricks. When hit, the tiles disappear and the ball rebounds.

Brix [ Cinematronics 1983, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Move vertically through the gaps in a field of horizontally-moving bricks, collecting a sufficient amount of gifts to make Lola happy. Avoid contact with Rattifers who chase you and seek to destroy you. Bonus objects allow you to imprison Rattifers inside of bricks.

You play two dinosaurs, Bub and Bob. You try to complete all 100 levels and rescue your girlfriends by trapping monsters in bubbles and bursting them. Heaps of power-ups and hidden features.

Bubble Memories - The Story of Bubble Bobble III [ Taito 1995, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Two bubble-blowing dragons blow bubbles at monsters. Monsters trapped within bubbles become fruit if the bubbles are popped. The longer the fire button is held, the larger the bubbles are. Large bubbles can trap one large monster or several normal-sized monsters.

Bubble Symphony [ Taito 1994, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

One or two bubble-blowing dragons (four to choose from) trap monsters within bubbles. EXCELLENT soundtrack. Features guest appearances from many other Taito games. Multiple endings depending on skill and secrets found.

Bubbles [ Williams 1982, HRC, Williams, 2P ]

Player controls a soap bubble in the kitchen sink, roaming about and mopping up crumbs, insects, etc. Watch out for the razor blades and spiders!

Buck Rogers Planet of Zoom [ Sega 1982, HRC, unique, 2P ]

A remote-controlled spacecraft is guided from a behind-the-ship perspective. Enemy ships must be shot down while you avoid obstacles in the ship's path. Two buttons control the speed of the ship.

Buggy Challenge [ Taito 1984, VRC, unique, 1P ]

Drive a buggy over dirt mounds and avoid obstacles: rocks, fences and other buggies. The object is to complete the four levels without running out of gas.

Bump 'N Jump [ Bally Midway 1983, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Peter Pepper the chef moves around the screen walking over the parts of a hamburger. As each item is walked over it drops to the level below. Armed with pepper he can throw on his enemies, he must avoid Mr. Hotdog, Mr. Egg, and Mr. Pickle. Bonuses appear in the forms of ice cream, coffee, and french fries.

BurgerTime (DECO) [ Data East 1982, VRC, Data East Cassette, 2P ]

As Peter Pepper, you run around dropping parts of hamburgers down to the trays at the bottom of the screen. The game's hardware consists of a tape and a custom module for use in Data East's cassette conversion systems. The title was licensed to Midway later on as a dedicated board set.

Cabal [ TAD 1986, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Viewed from behind, you stand behind a wall for shielding and must fend off attacking troops and tanks etc. using your gun and grenades. At the end of each level, all the buildings collapse and you run off up the road to the next stage.

Cadash [ Taito 1989, HRC, JAMMA, 4P ]

A multiple player action and role-playing game. Your character must fight though scrolling levels to earn experience points and money that can be used to buy better weapons and armor. The game can be played by two players on one cabinet or linked to another cabinet to accomodate up to four players.

Capcom Bowling [ Capcom 1988, VRC, JAMMA, 4P ]

This top-down view bowling game allows up to four players to compete. The trackball controls the aim and power of your throw and two buttons control the left and right hook respectively. There are graphic displays of turkeys, splits, gutters etc. and the game keeps track of scoring and high scores.

Captain America and the Avengers [ Data East 1991, HRC, JAMMA, 4P ]

Isometric action side-scrolling game. Become either Captain America, Iron Man, Vision, or Hawkeye and battle Red Skull and his henchmen in classic Marvel-comic style! "Avengers Assemble!"

Captain Commando [ Capcom 1991, HRC, JAMMA+, 4P ]

Four good-guy psychos wade their way through hoards of bad-guy psychos in this horizontal scrolling punch and kick-em-up. You get to ride some mean robot walkers and pickup some useful (limited ammo) weaponry on the way.

A shooting gallery game. Fire a gun at owls, bunnies, ducks, pipes, bonus letters, and other positive or negative bonus items.

Carrier Air Wing [ Capcom 1990, HRC, Capcom CPS - JAMMA, 2P ]

This is a side-scrolling shooter with power-ups and special weapons. You can buy the special weapons and things like energy and shields at the beginning of a stage. You gain money by shooting enemies.

Castle of Dragon [ Seta 1989, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

One or two armored knights fight through a right to left scrolling world, picking up weapons and armor bonuses. They are occasionally halted to fight boss monsters on the way to a dragon at the end, whereupon a princess is rescued.

Centipede [ Atari 1981, VRC, unique, 2P ]

The player controls a gun that can only move in the bottom fifth of the screen. The object is to shoot a centipede that works its way down to the player area through a field of mushrooms. Other attacking enemies are fleas, spiders, and scorpions.

Player chooses team and plays baseball against computer. Game ends when player is tied or losing at the end of an inning or nine innings have been played.

Race against 3 other formula-1 cars on several different track layouts for bonuses while avoiding oil slicks, pools of water, pop-up posts, tornadoes, and automatic doors. Bonuses include prize money and vehicle upgrades.

A horizontally scrolling platform/shoot'em up game where you control a running man. Controlling him is tricky, with 3 buttons to keep in mind, but the game is original and fun.

Cheyenne [ Exidy 1984, HRC, Exidy Crossbow, 1P ]

A shooting game, with a western motif. The player uses a gun (mounted to the cabinet) to escort the sheriff though a variety of dangers, gathering bounty for capturing criminals.

Chiller [ Exidy 1986, HRC, Exidy Crossbow, 2P ]

Shooting game with horror/torture motif. Player uses the mounted gun to try and hit a specified number of targets within a given time limit. There are four basic scenes, plus two types of "bonus" levels.

China Gate [ Technos 1988, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Platform, chop-sockey game with a choice of three animal characters. End of level and end of section bosses must be defeated to proceed.

Chinese Hero [ Taiyo 1984, VRC, unique, 2P ]

This is a Kung-Fu action game. Lee and Loo must save the princess from 24 evil villians (only 12 in a one-player game). The program automatically adjusts to a player's skill level.

Choplifter [ Sega 1985, HRC, Sega, 2P ]

Fly a helicopter on missions to rescue P.O.W.s. Four different levels featuring desert, sea, caves and city rescue. Avoid and shoot enemy jets, ships, tanks anti-aircraft fire. Digitized speech and catchy background music.

Chopper I [ SNK 1988, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Vertically scrolling helicopter shoot 'em up. You fight choppers, tanks and boats. Shooting large choppers gives power-up, either heavier guns or special bombs. Watch out for obstacles rising from the ground.

Circus Charlie [ Konami 1984, VRC, Konami, 2P ]

Guide Charlie through six different circus events including Fire Rings, Tight Rope, Trampoline, Ball Walk, Horse Back, and Flying Trapeze. Timer bonus points are added for finishing a level and more points are awarded for completing a round without losing Charlie. The game is over when all Circus Charlies are lost.

Cisco Heat [ Jaleco 1990, HRC, unique, 1P ]

This game is a police car race through the streets of San Fransico with lots of jumps, on the stepped streets, and 90 degree turns. The cabinets can be linked together for multiplayer racing.

City Connection [ Jaleco 1985, HRC, unique, 2P ]

A little red car does wheelies and jumps between platforms and colours them in as it drives on them. Collect and shoot oil cans at the cops, taxis, ambulances etc. Watch out for the cat! Neat theme music and background pictures.

Clash Road [ Status Game Corp. 1986, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Race your bicycle, avoid/jump over obstacles, collect bonus objects, punch opponents.

Cliff Hanger [ Stern 1983, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Player uses a joystick along with hand and foot buttons to save a girl from the evil Count Draco. Japanese laser gameplay from the movie "Lupin III" progresses through eight sections of action.

Cloak & Dagger [ Atari 1983, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Agent X, complete with trenchcoat, Bogie hat and briefcase, hurries through a series of floors to retrieve stolen plans and destroy Dr. Boom's underground bomb factory. The hero descends in a special elevator and on each floor he encounters conveyor belts with moving explosives, bomb converters, forklifts, robot guards, acid pits, and death-ray shooting eyeballs. On the final level, Agent X meets the notorious Dr. Boom himself.

Cobra Command [ Data East 1984, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Cobra Command was a laser disc conversion kit for Dragon's Lair/Space Ace and M.A.C.H. III games. The two kits were different and had different boards completely. They also used different laser disc players. Cobra Command involved flying your helicopter through different laser disc-generated sections. After completing all sections you attacked the main enemy headquarters.

Colony 7 [ Taito 1981, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Defend Colony 7 from alien attack by using two ion-cannons that fire an exploding shot which knocks out targets near its detonation zone, an eradicator rocket that acts as a "Smartbomb" which clears the entire screen, and an ion shield which provides temporary safety (blasted away by alien fire). The game is cross between Pleiades and Missile Command.

The game has several levels including a bar, Varmit Alley, Bank Robbers, Robots, Birds, outer space, Bank robbers again and a Bonus 'Slot machine' level.

The player is a tank trying to rescue hostages on worlds with lots of craters (that the player can descend into.) Rescuing all hostages, while avoiding (or destroying) other tanks and UFOs advances the player to the next level.

Play human fly and scale a building while avoiding a wide variety of falling objects. Get picked up by a chopper at the top and do it all over again.

It's you and your friends versus the street gangs; beat them up and kick 'em when they're down. Pick up sticks, knives and guns to eliminate your foes quicker. Fight the boss enemies at the end of each level.

The player 'clears the streets' of a future city. Bad guys are killed off by punching or jumping on them. The game also lets you pick up parts of the scenery and throw them at bad guys. There are the usual end-of-level boss bad guys.

Race across various cities in the US against 9 other cars. One of the other cars may be controlled by another person if two machines are linked. Emphasis is more on fun versus being a real driving simulator.

Bentley Bear gathers gems in many 3/4 view castles. Wear the magic hat to kill the witch. Kill the gem eaters only when they are eating. Secret warps take you to higher levels.

In the year 2022, robot football is the most popular sport where each team attempts to score before the ball temperature reaches critical and explodes, possibly taking a star machine with it. The ball is defused by selecting running/passing plays and getting the ball past the 50-yard line or the goal. Players may buy upgraded robots with team funds earned by performing well in the game.

Seven-on-seven futuristic football with robots. Players select plays and attempt to either outscore the computer or another opponent. Players earn money over the course of the game and can upgrade players. Tournament is the sequal to Cyberball released in 1988.

A four-player beat-em-up. Save the city from the Evil Gang who are hell-bent on blowing up large sections of the city.

DJ Boy [ American Sammy 1989, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

You must recover DJ's stolen boom box. DJ and OJ skate through five different neighborhoods filled with a variety of bizarre characters. Collect the musical notes that appear from the defeated "big, bad guys" to earn stars, which when accumlated, earn extra lives.

Dambusters [ GAT 1981, HRC, unique, 2P ]

The player must fly a bomber from England to Germany and back to destroy a Dam in the Rhur valley. The bomber flies over a horizontally scrolling landscape whilst shooting enemy planes and ground targets. The dam must be destroyed by a well-timed strike with a bouncing bomb.

Danny Sullivan's Indy Heat [ Leland 1991, HRC, unique, 3P ]

Five indy cars duel for first place. They race on one of many different race tracks from an overhead view of the entire track. Pit sstops, "nitros", and blown engines are all a part of the race.

Darius [ Taito 1987, HRC, unique, 2P ]

One or two players control a spaceship as the background scrolls away to the left. The game features bosses patterned after marine critters, a terrific stereo soundtrack, and three monitors aligned left-to-right.

Dark Adventure [ Konami 1987, HRC, JAMMA+, 3P ]

Choose any of three characters in this adventure type game. Wander around several landscapes fighting off a variety of enemies. Uncover and pick-up food to replentish your rapidly diminishing health.

Dark Edge [ Sega 1993, HRC, JAMMA+, 2P ]

Two humanoid characters fight in the earliest 2-D form of a 3-D one-on-one fighting arena. Punches, kicks and special moves propel the player through a total of eight opponents to victory. A bonus stage is strongly reminiscent of Space Harrier.

Fantasy hack and slash game with a lot of digital speech. Nice graphics with a Gauntlet-like gameplay. Up to four people can play at the same time.

Dark Stalkers The Night Warriors [ Capcom 1994, HRC, Capcom CPS II - JAMMA, 2P ]

This one-on-one fighting game features creatures of the night. After defeating the other nine standard opponents, two "boss" characters must then be defeated to finish the game.

Dark Tower [ Game Room 1992, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A little troll with a club bashes the monsters in a tower. When all the monsters on the level have been killed, he descends to the next lower level in the tower.

Darwin 4078 [ Data East 1986, VRC, Konami, 2P ]

Standard vertical shoot 'em up. You control a surrealistic space fighter, fighting just as surrealistic enemies. Power-up capsules alters the ship's shape, weapons, and makes it larger. There are sixteen levels with a giant enemy at the end of each.

Daytona USA [ Sega 1994, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Checkpoint-style racing game, featuring realistic physics and multi-player action. Features three different racing tracks, multiple player views, and numerous "secrets". Superb racer that will be the benchmark for many years to come.

Dead Angle [ Seibu Kaihatsu 1988, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

First person shoot all the bad guys game. You control a cross-hairs and appear to look through an outline of your body while you shoot. You must also dodge shots at your player. Multiple scenes.

Dead Connection [ Taito 1992, HRC, JAMMA+, 4P ]

A 1920's gangster shoot-em-up. Eliminate a certain number of baddies in order to advance to another location. Eventually, you'll meet the big boss and kill him too.

Death Race [ Exidy 1976, HRB, unique, 2P ]

Drive a car over animated stick people. Characters that have been hit will scream and a tombstone will appear where they died. Two players compete against each other at the same time.

Defender [ Williams 1980, HRC, Williams, 2P ]

Defend the human population from swarms of attacking aliens. Extremely popular even though it was deemed a flop at a 1981 Chicago arcade machine trade show because of it's difficulty. The attract mode for the game was programmed in just five hours.

Demolition Derby [ Bally Midway 1984, HRC, Midway MCRIII, 2P ]

Drive your car in a demolition derby and avoid getting hit in the radiator. Hit other cars in the radiator several times to make them explode. Collect wrenches, screwdrivers and car keys for bonuses.

Devastators [ Konami 1989, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Viewed from behind you are a soldier who must walk forward shooting your way past troops, tanks etc. as the scenery scrolls past like a driving game, until you reach the end-of-level boss. Take him/it out and move on to next stage.

Diet Go Go [ Data East 1992, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Two asian teenagers wearing gym gear must jump up and down levels and fire at monsters. After shooting the monsters a few times the enemies become fat and can be jumped on and bounced around the screen to destroy other monsters. Players can withstant being hit by food up to two times, but if a monster touches a player, he dies instantly.

Dig Dug [ Atari 1982, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Dig tunnels underground and use an air pump to inflate and blow-up your enemies. You can also drop rocks on your foes. Dislodge two rocks and a bonus vegetable will appear in the center of the screen. A level ends when all the enemies have been destroyed.

Dig Dug II [ Namco 1985, VRC, Namco Galaga, 2P ]

You are a space-suited figure carrying a drill, move around a horizontal scrolling island, avoid 'cute' Pookas and fire-breathing dragons. Harpoon, or drill on 'fault lines' and sink parts of the island to kill bad guys. Many different levels and island. Game area is viewed from at an angle from front and above.

Disco No. 1 [ Data East 1982, VRC, Data East Cassette, 2P ]

You play a 90 pound weakling kid in a roller rink who has to skate around the bad guys in order to win the love admiration of cute chicks. Earn points by completely encircling one or more tough guys and picking up various bonus items that float across the rink. Nice music and decent graphics for 1982. Interesting gameplay mechanics, but ultimately too hard to understand the basic premise of the game.

Discs of Tron [ Bally Midway 1983, HRC, Midway MCRIII, 1P ]

Based on the film "Tron". Fling discs at Sark in an attempt to knock him off his disc. Knocking off Sark will advance you to the next level. Other levels vary the level and number of discs to jump between.

Do! Run Run [ Universal 1984, HRC, Universal, 2P ]

This is the fourth and last game in the series where Mr. Do! must collect dots and fruit on a multi-level platform while avoiding pursuing monsters. Enclose the dots to change them to fruit for more points or release traps to crush the monsters or use your power ball to elminate them. Pick up the letters hidden amongst the fruit to spell "EXTRA" to receive an extra Mr. Do!

Players place Dominos in an attempt to cause their competitor to run into their trail. Play begins slowly, but speeds up as time progresses. Players change direction based upon their button presses.

Donkey Kong [ Nintendo 1981, VRC, Nintendo, 2P ]

Jumpman -- known today as Mario -- must traverse levels (structures) to save his girlfriend, Pauline, from Donkey Kong before time runs out. The levels include Girders, Rivets, Elevators, and Conveyor Belts. Mario must avoid flames, barrels, and bouncing rivets to reach his goal.

Donkey Kong 3 [ Nintendo 1983, VRC, Nintendo, 2P ]

Stanley must shoot insect repellent at Kong to drive him to the top of the screen while avoiding/shooting insects. He must protecting five plants at the bottom of the screen from being carried off by the various insects.

Donkey Kong Junior [ Nintendo 1982, VRC, Nintendo, 2P ]

The player controls a small monkey who must leap from platforms, climb vines, and avoid enemies to rescue Donkey Kong from Mario. The game has several distinct levels with similar goals. Fruit can be dropped on enemies (leg traps and birds) to kill them.

Double Dragon [ Taito 1987, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

In order to save a kidnapped girlfriend, one or two players must defeat waves of enemies and bosses using various martial arts moves and the occasional weapon. At the end of the game after defeating the final boss, if two players survive, they must duke it out to win the girl.

Double Dragon 3 - The Rosetta Stone [ Technos 1990, HRC, JAMMA+, 3P ]

This is the third game in the series although there is little if any resemblence to the previous two titles. Players can choose to play Billy, Jimmy or Sonny who journey and fight throughout America, China, Japan, Italy and Egypt in search of the three Rosetta Stones. There are shops on each level that allow the player to purchase power-ups for depositing additional credits.

Double Dragon II - The Revenge [ Technos 1988, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

This is the second game in the series. The object is to beat-up your enemies using your normal and specialty moves and any other available objects. The game is basically an enhanced remake of the original, but the game play is much more difficult.

Double Dribble [ Konami 1986, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A marvel in early competitive sports gaming, this basketball game offers both artificially intelligent computer opponents and player versus player competition. This was the first game to incorporate the national anthem in pre-game introductions.

Dragon Breed [ Irem 1989, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A warrior, riding an immortal dragon, shoots at a variety of attacking enemies. Hold the fire button down longer for more powerful shots. Mount and dismount the dragon to pick up power-ups or avoid attacks.

Dragon Buster [ Namco 1984, HRC, unique, 1P ]

A Ghosts 'n' Goblins type role-playing game in which you travel through various scenery to rescue the princess from an evil dragon.

Dragon Saber [ Namco 1990, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A vertical shooting game with a dragon instead of a plane or spaceship. Shoot eggs to get powerups such as fireballs or up to three heads. Very cool and uncommon bosses like a giant brain.

Dragon Spirit [ Atari 1987, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

You have been transformed into a dragon who's goal is to save the Princess who was taken by "Zawell". To do so, you must conquer the chief enemy at the end of each of nine areas by shooting down flashing creatures and collecting their eggs for mystery power. Difficult game play. Great graphics.

Dragon's Lair [ Cinematronics 1983, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Dirk the Daring travels, searching through a castle for Daphne who has been kidnapped by the Dragon. Cinematronics first laser disc done by Disney animator, Don Bluth. Very popular.

Dragon's Lair 2: Timewarp [ Leland 1991, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Daphne has been kidnapped and Dirk the Daring must rescue her! Travel through time and space in 9 levels of twitch-action response to flashing on the screen. Laserdisc provides beautifully animated scenery.

Dungeons & Dragons: Tower of Doom [ Capcom 1993, HRC, Capcom CPS II - JAMMA, 4P ]

Selecting one of four fantasy adventurers, players fight monsters, gather treasure and increase in power until they finally confront the source of the evil.

Two on two basketball. Polygons are the components that make up the graphics on this System 11 based title. The game uses a sideline viewing perspective.

Dynablaster [ Seitu 1992, HRC, JAMMA+, 4P ]

In this puzzle/action game you control a bomberman. Your character can drop bombs to kill enemies and destroy walls. Find powerups in the walls like extra bombs, bigger bombs, timebombs, etc.

Dynasty Wars [ Capcom 1989, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

This is a two player game where you play one of four Japanese heroes on horseback and try to kill all of your enemies. You can swing your weapon forward or backward or use magic to defeat you enemy.

E-Swat [ Sega 1989, HRC, Sega System 16, 2P ]

As a cop you have to battle your way through a city, killing all alcoholics, gun-toting pimps, knife wielding maniacs and skateboarding kids with iron bars and the like. The further you get into the game, the more armor and weapons you can obtain. You end up being kitted out a bit like Robocop.

Eagle [ Centuri 1980, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Fly your tri-stage spaceship through wave after wave of alien bird-like ships. Dock your ships onto one another for greater score and firepower! From Attract Mode: "EAGLE" "You can have a lot of fun and thrill".

Earth Defence Force [ Jaleco 1991, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

This is a sidescrolling shooter but, unlike most shooters, you don't pick up powerups. Instead, you increase power by killing enemies. You can only change weapons when you complete a level or die.

Eggs [ Universal 1983, VRC, Konami, 2P ]

The player must run around a maze kicking Eggs into walls to break them open, revealing chicks. Chicks then must be kicked off the screen before they turn red and start chasing you like the other enemies.

Elevator Action [ Taito 1983, HRC, Taito, 2P ]

In a building filled with elevators, you're a spy trying to get to the bottom of the building. Bad guys appear from behind doorways, but you can shoot, kick, drop a light on them or even crush them with the elevator you are in!

Eliminator [ Gremlin 1981, HVC, Sega G80 System, 2P ]

A large spheroid known as the Eliminator floats randomly about the screen destroying everything it touches. Pilot a space ship around and avoid being hit by it, other players, or drones while fighting.

Empire Strikes Back, The [ Atari Games 1985, HVC, Atari Color Vector, 1P ]

A color vector game with four different scenarios per level; 1) Probots, 2) Imperial Walkers, 3) Tie fighters, 4) Asteroid field. The game uses several music and dialogue samples from the movie of the same name.

End, The [ Stern 1980, VRC, Konami, 2P ]

The player controls a bug at the bottom of the screen, shooting smaller bugs that peel off the carapace of a huge mother beetle. Prevent small bugs from taking away blocks from under you, and spelling "The End" in blocks.

Escape from the Planet of the Robot Monsters [ Atari 1989, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

The evil Reptilons are holding humans hostage on Planet X. Warp in and rescue them, destroying enemy robot monsters with laser blasts, viewed from a three-quarters overhead view. Hall-effect joysticks allow rotation to face any direction.

Espial [ Orca 1983, VRC, unique, 2P ]

A very good Xevious clone with some elements of Star Force thrown in as well. Rarely seen but quite playable. Catchy starting music. It was later ported to the Atari 800 home computer.

Euro Football Champ [ Taito 1990, HRC, unique, 4P ]

Choose a European football team to play against or with. One to four players can play -- more than 2 allows cooperative play on the same team. Foul other players (kicks, punches, pulling at shirts) when the referee isn't looking to get control of the ball. If he sees, you get booked! Too much and you're sent off!

Exerion [ Jaleco 1981, VRC, unique, 2P ]

This is a shoot-em-up game with parallax effects in the background and a nice simulation of inertia in the control of the ship. You have lots of enemies and two kinds of shooting, slow and fast.

Express Raiders [ Data East 1985, HRC, Data East, 2P ]

Travel along a train punching, kicking, and jumping over various opponents. Stages vary between running on top of a moving train or riding a horse and shooting things for points.

Exterminator [ Gottlieb/Premier 1989, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Use your hands and bug spray to kill digitized bugs that come towards you.

Eyes [ Rock-Ola 1982, VRC, unique, 2P ]

You are an eye travelling through a maze shooting dots to advance to next level while computer eyes try to shoot you. Shoot computer eyes before they get you.

F-1 Dream [ Capcom 1989, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Above view joystick racing game. It has 4 tracks and each can be wet/dry races. Fans run across track. Increase your power by finishing well. Choose normal or turbo car. Has fake ads like "Coco-Colo" and "Gamel".

Fast Freddie [ Atari 1982, VRC, unique, 2P ]

A side action scroller that scrolls from left to right rather than right to left. You are Freddie, flying in a hang glider with the goal to make it to the end of the level, kicking balloons, helicopters, birds, targets, etc. along the way.

Field Combat [ Jaleco 1985, VRC, unique, 2P ]

You control a mobile base on the front-line of a zoned combat arena. Shoot missiles at a variety of attacking enemies or capture them using your tractor beam. Deploy five kinds of reserve forces to help you fight against your foes.

Final Fight [ Capcom 1989, HRC, Capcom CPS - JAMMA, 4P ]

Choosing one of three fighters, Cody, Guy or Mayor Mike Haggar, you make your way through the streets of Metro City battling the forces of the evil street gang MAD GEAR in order to rescue Cody's girlfriend Jessica (the daughter of the mayor) from the evil leader of the gang.

Final Round, The [ Konami 1988, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A boxing game where you can train in between games to improve your speed, strength and stamina for the next fight.

Firefox [ Atari 1984, HRC, unique, 1P ]

You control an experimental military fighter through various terrain, including snow-capped mountain valleys, over-seas, and rugged land. The objective is to shoot up enemy fighters, as well as fuel targets to gain enough fuel to complete the stage.

Flicky [ Bally Midway 1984, HRC, Midway Flicky, 2P ]

Mama bluejay, "Flicky", must collect her chicks and lead them home. Watch out for the two cats who will send your chicks wandering aimlessly about or eat you if caught. Each level offers about a dozen objects to throw at and knock out the cats.

Flower [ Komax 1986, HRC, unique, 2P ]

An unusual multi-stage vertical shooter that is set in outer space. Eliminate attacking flowers and a variety of end-bosses. Shoot daisy-chains and comets for power-ups like speed, laser, missiles, and the cutter blade.

Fly-Boy [ Kaneko 1982, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Side scrolling view of a hanglider flying from right to left over various terrains while avoiding flying planes, helicopters and other airborne objects. The idea is to fly across the ground and land on a pad for points. The further the pad, the higher the points.

Flying Shark [ Taito 1987, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A vertical scrolling shooter where you fly a biplane, like a Sopwith Camel, equipped with two cannons and smart bombs. You must fly from each runway to the next over jungle, sea and desert destroying tanks, planes and ships.

Food Fight [ Atari 1983, HRC, unique, 2P ]

As Charlie Chuck, you hurl piles of food at your foes, but make sure you eat the ice-cream cone before it melts. This game uses a special analog joystick that is comprised of a centering-bellows and two potentiometers.

Football [ Atari 1978, VRB, unique, 2P ]

An American football game where the player characters are represented as X's and O's on a monochrome screen. Players select one of four offensive or defensive plays and then control one of the characters on each team.

Forgotten Worlds [ Capcom 1988, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Two heroes battle against Bios and his many monsters. Huge bosses. Pick up zenny to buy armor and super weapons at shops.

Frenzy [ Stern 1982, HRC, unique, 2P ]

A humanoid advances through many mazes by shooting as many robots as he can while being pursued by Evil Otto. Various phrases and sound effects can be heard throughout the game.

Frogger [ Sega/Gremlin 1981, VRC, Konami, 2P ]

Try and get your frog from one side of the road, over the river and into your home. To complete a level you must dodge cars, jump on logs and alligator's backs while avoiding snakes, alligators, and otters. Bonuses are awarded for getting bugs that momentarily appear, escorting lady frogs home, and getting five frogs safely home.

Front Line [ Taito 1982, VRC, Taito, 2P ]

A vertical shoot-em-up using guns and grenades. Jump into light or heavily armored tanks to fight off the enemy tanks. Toss grenades into the fort to win the battle.

Funky Bee [ Orca 1982, VRC, unique, 2P ]

A raster monitor game where the player is a bee with a stinger. You fly over flowers for points and must avoid the trees and fires as well as the enemy bugs. You may use your stinger to kill bugs, but only one stinger is allowed on the screen at a time.

Funky Jet [ Mitchell Corp. 1992, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

This is a fighting type game that spans several stages. Each stage is the size of one screen and after you defeat all the enemies you scroll to the next. After picking up five power-ups you can get a special power.

Funny Mouse [ Chou Co. Ltd 1982, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Levels and ladders, collect objects and return them to the storeroom while chased by mean cats and snakes. Limited supply of bombs to blow-up the bad guys. Open trap doors to drop enemies into the water!

Future Spy [ Sega 1985, VRC, Sega Zaxxon, 2P ]

You fly an F-15 around various obstacles including missiles, airplanes, helicopters, cities, destroyers, carriers, submarines, tanks, etc. while shooting or firing missiles at them. To advance "levels" you have to be able to successfully live through a black cloud experience, where you are attacked with only a 3d radar view to help you against speedy enemies.

G&G [ The Learning Company 1990, HRC, unique, 1P ]

A mechanic travels around levels searching for parts to make vehicles like planes and cars. Throw bannanas at monsters to make them go to sleep. To win a trophy, you must make the best vehicle you can and beat your opponent in a race.

Gaiapolis [ Konami 1993, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A 'Dungeons and Dragons'-ish fighting game using Japanese style animation. The player can select between three characters who must go on a quest to save Gaia. Interesting animation in the cut scenes.

Galaga [ Midway 1981, VRC, Namco Galaga, 2P ]

As a spaceship moving left to right at the bottom of the screen, shoot up at enemies as they enter, assemble in formation and fly down at you. If you allowed an alien to capture one of your ships in it's tractor beam, you could shoot the foe later and double your fire power!

Galaga '88 [ Atari 1987, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

The player's ship moves from side to side and the player attempts to shoot all advancing enemy ships. Enemy ships are in formation above, and also individual enemy ships come at the player to attack his ship. There are items to collect as they fall, and bombs to avoid from the attacking enemy ships.

Galaga 3 [ Namco 1984, VRC, Namco Galaga, 2P ]

Another shooting game in which you can capture the enemies and make them work with you if you hit the queen ship when it dives. Not widely known because released during video game crash.

Galaxian [ Bally Midway 1979, HRC, Namco Galaxian, 2P ]

A game where a spaceship flys back and forth shooting aliens and monsters in space.

Galaxy Ranger [ Bally Midway 1983, HRC, unique, 1P ]

Interactive Laser Disc space battle game with computer generated overlaid graphics. Control a space craft to defend against attacking enemy waves then destroy the enemy command ship. Huge explosions. Video from a Toei Film.

Galivan [ Nihon Bussan 1985, VRC, Nichibutsu, 2P ]

You are the Cosmo Police who walk and jump around a scrolling cave system shooting, punching and kicking various enemies. Collect POW for a robot suit and weaponry. Find your way to the room with the robot dragon and destroy it to move onto the next level.

Gang Wars [ Alpha/SNK 1989, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

1989, New York. A little girl was taken away by someone unknown. You play either Mike or Jackie, two people who are sent in to rescue the girl from a gang of vicious punks.

Gaplus [ Namco 1984, VRC, Namco Galaga, 2P ]

Another shooting game where you can capture the enemies and make them work for you if you hit the queen ship when it dives. This game is not widely known because it was released during the video game crash.

Gate of Doom [ Data East 1990, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Dungeon-crawling action in a three-quarters overhead view. You have the choice of four characters, Knight, Wizard, Bard, or Ninja, each with their own unique abilities. Magic items and spells turn your character into an elemental force with super powers. A large variety of dungeon denizens are present to kill you.

Gauntlet [ Atari 1985, HRC, unique, 4P ]

Up to four people can play at once, exploring dungeons and fighting monsters from an overhead perspective. Each player's character has different strengths and weaknesses. The players collect food, potions, and treasure for points and health.

Gauntlet II [ Atari 1986, HRC, unique, 4P ]

The Warrior, Valkyrie, Elf, and Wizard enter a dungeon with several hundred levels. Monster generators churn out wave after wave of enemies, destroy them to clear the level, and then find the exit. Collect food for health and magic items for power-ups.

Ghosts 'n Goblins [ Capcom 1985, HRC, Capcom, 2P ]

You're a knight who must run and jump through six horziontal- or vertical-scrolling levels to rescue your sweetheart. Throw lances, axes etc. to kill zombies, bats, demons and other assorted foes. You must defeat the end-of-level boss before you can move on to the next stage.

Ghouls 'n Ghosts [ Capcom 1988, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

As a knight whose sweetheart has been abducted by a demon, run and jump through a gauntlet of areas shooting ghouls and monsters with weapons you can pick up along the way.

Gimme A Break [ Bally Sente 1985, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Play Billiards using a trackball to control the cue ball. One-player game: knock all the balls in; two-player game: stripes and solids. Bonus round in one-player game: knock bonus balls in for extra shots.

Gladiator [ Taito 1986, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Equipped with a suit of armor, sword, and shield, you must battle through the castle in this side-scroller. Strike or block the different objects coming at you. Fight various opponents, breaking off pieces of their armor, while defeating them. Collect new swords and shields along the way, and hit the magic crystal balls to repair your armor.

Goal to Go [ Stern 1983, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Using laser footage from a couple of local Football teams, you must take your team into the end zone.

Goindol [ Sun A Electronics Ind. Co. Ltd. 1987, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Use your paddle to keep the ball bouncing and destroy all the blocks. Allowing the ball to get past your paddle costs you a life. Destroy all blocks to advance to the next level. Hit bonus item for extra point and bonus screens.

Gold Medalist [ SNK 1988, HRC, JAMMA, 4P ]

Compete in Olympic sporting events. There are nine different events including 100m dash, long jump, horizontal bar, freestyle (swimming), boxing, discus, hurdle, high jump, and 400m relay. Choose teams from the USA, Canada, Japan, USSR, Australia, France, Great Britain, and Germany.

Golden Axe [ Sega 1989, HRC, Sega System 16, 2P ]

The player controls one of three characters in this horizontal-scrolling fighting game that features many different enemies and scenes. Mounted enemies (riding dragons, etc.) can be knocked off and the players themselves can then ride the creatures.

Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder [ Sega 1992, HRC, JAMMA, 4P ]

Four adventurers band together to rid the land of the evil Death Adder. The side-viewed action is mostly hand-to-hand melee with his henchmen, but use magic spells to even the odds. Knock riders off their mounts and ride them yourself to use their powerful weaponry.

Golfing Greats [ Konami 1990, HRC, JAMMA, 4P ]

Stroke-play or match-play golfing game in a 3-D environment.

Gondomania [ Data East 1987, VRC, JAMMA+, 2P ]

Fly a craft over a scrolling background and dodge enemy fire while shooting enemies. The theme is somewhat midieval (dragons, soldiers, etc.) and plant-like (vines, lakes, etc.). Two fire buttons shoot weapons which when powered-up have a limited number of shots.

Gorf [ Midway 1981, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Player controls a spaceship that must blast its way through five missions, each a different challenge. Game features a pistol grip joystick and electronic speech that heckles the player during gameplay.

Gravitar [ Atari 1982, HVC, Atari Color Vector, 2P ]

The player controls a space ship in three different solar systems. Each solar system consists of a home base, a death star, a red alien planet and four regular planets. Each planet has its own unique terrain.

Great 1000 Mile Rally [ Kaneko 1994, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A driving game with top-down pseudo 3-D graphics. You can select one of ten cars and depending upon which vehicle has been chosen, you can select the starting point of the race. The game can be installed in a variety of cabinets using either a joystick and buttons or a steering wheel and foot pedals for control.

Great Guns [ Stern 1983, HRC, unique, 2P ]

A game of shooting. Contains many different levels including circus, prehistoric, and wizard scenes. Targets move and both players aim their guns at the screen and shoot.

Green Beret [ Konami 1985, HRC, Konami, 2P ]

Side scrolling platform combat game. Slash your way through enemy troops using a knife and collect special weapons to hasten your progress as you seek to "rescue the captives". Music includes tunes from old WWII movies.

Grobda [ Namco 1984, VRC, unique, 1P ]

Little tank-like game that isn't known very widely due to it's release date. Speech:"get ready". Uses wave style for battle and you destroy tanks as they try to do the same to you. Had an overhead view.

Gryzor [ Konami 1987, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A side-scrolling, two-player soldiers-and-enemies shoot-em-up with regular primitive 3-D into-the-screen scenes inside the enemy's bases/tunnels/etc.

Guerrilla War [ SNK 1987, VRC, JAMMA+, 2P ]

Players use guns, grenades and tanks to kill all opponents in a scrolling world. Capture the palace to overthrow the king. Bosses include a helicopter, a train and a tank.

Gun Fight [ Midway 1976, HRB, Midway 8080, 2P ]

Old west theme shoot-out. Using simple graphics, two cowboys one on the left and one on the right move up down, left and right trying to get a clear shot (avoiding cactus) at the other.

Gun Smoke [ Capcom 1985, VRC, Capcom, 2P ]

Controlling a cowboy in the wild west you have to make your way through hostile cowboys of each level. Shooting barrels reveals power-ups such as boots, rifles and bullets. Each level has a weapon specialist end boss, like winchester, knifes, darts and boomerangs.

Gunforce [ Irem 1991, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A two-player co-op horizontal scroller. Players shoot other soldiers, climb into jeeps and helicopters, pick up different weapons and destroy the end-level building.

Guzzler [ Tehkan 1983, VRC, Tehkan, 2P ]

A maze-style game. You shoot "liquid" to kill monsters and eat "food" to replace the liquid. Monsters are generated from four fires which must be destroyed to complete level. There is a chance to gain one more life when lose your last.

Gyruss [ Centuri 1983, VRC, Konami, 2P ]

Shoot-em-up through the Earth solar system where the players ship moves in a circular orbit around the outer edge of the screen while shooting at enemies in the center. Excellent synthesizer music score of Bach's "Tocatta and Fugue in D Minor".

HAL 21 [ SNK 1985, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Fly a space ship over a vertically scrolling landscape shooting attacking enemies that circle and swirl past you. Bomb targets on the ground for extra points and then meet the boss spaceship.

Hang-On Racing [ Sega 1985, HRC, unique, 1P ]

Racing a G.P. style road motorcycle against other bikes and against a timer. Getting to the end of a section before time expires gives you more time.

Hard Hat [ Exidy 1982, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Carpenter is chased by hammers and whirlwinds through a grid of scaffolding. Carpenter moves scaffolding to move letters and spell "EXIDY" and "HARD HAT". Puzzle/logic game.

Hatris [ unknown 19??, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Hatris is a Tetris-type game where instead of blocks descending, there are hats; top hats, wizard hats, beanines and the like. The game is played by making vertical stacks of hats. When a stack of five hats of the same type and color is created, it disappears. The challenge of the game is that different styles of hats will stack differently. The game ends when one of your stacks of hats reaches the top of the screen. Occasionally, a red or a blue flame will appear. One burns just the top type of hat on a stack. The other will burn a stack to the ground. Scoring is not important. The number of total sets of five is what counts. The counter stops at 999, but the game continues.

Haunted Castle [ Konami 1988, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A man armed with a whip ventures through Transylvania to rescue his new bride from the clutches of evil Count Dracula. The levels scroll in all directions and storybook and mythical monsters attack the player along the way. Mini-bosses and bosses provide major encumbrances.

Heavy Barrel [ Data East 1987, VRC, JAMMA+, 2P ]

One or two-player game similar to "Ikari Warriors". Kill a wide range of opponents by shooting or throwing grenades at them. Collect keys to open locked chests and receive a surprise! Collect all five parts of the "Heavy Barrel" to assemble and use the super weapon.

Hellfire [ Toaplan 1989, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A spaceship fighter game that scrolls from right to left. Enemy cannons fire upon you from the surface and enemy ships attack from all around you.

High Impact Football [ Williams 1990, HRC, JAMMA+, 4P ]

An easy to play football game that includes passing running fieldgoals and touchdowns. Cool sound effects such as "I'm going to kick your butt" or "C'mon punk" highlight the games entertainment value. Passing and running plays are pretty simplistic and are selected via a menu screen by pressing the A or B buttons.

Hit the Ice [ Williams 1990, HRC, JAMMA+, 4P ]

It's the Reds versus the Blues in this anything goes one- to four-player hockey game. Fight, trip, body slam, hack, slash, spear and elbow your way past opponents to get the puck into the net. For an additional credit, players can buy a Power Drink that will transform the player character into a powered-up maniac for one minute.

Hoccer [ Eastern Micro Electronics Inc. 1983, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Overhead view of hockey rink. You are a one-man team against two computer controlled opponents and a goalie. Your objective is to score goals and pick up bonus points by shooting the stars along ringside. You choose from three levels of competition in a quest for the trophy.

Hydra [ Atari Games 1990, HRC, JAMMA+, 1P ]

 

Hyper Sports [ Centuri 1984, HRC, Konami, 4P ]

This game consists of Olympic events. The player must qualify the event to move onto the next.

I, Robot [ Atari 1983, HRC, unique, 2P ]

The first videogame using 3-D filled polygons. I, Robot placed the player in a (at the time) bewildering landscape of surrealistic shapes and sounds. Using a Hall-effect joystick, two fire buttons and two buttons to control the players viewing angle, the player controls "Unhappy Interface Robot #1984" as he tries to clear each cleverly designed level of red tiled polygons.

IPM Invader [ unknown 1979, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Destroy waves of approaching aliens with your ground cannon. Flying saucer drops additional aliens during battle. Coffee break intermissions appear after every third level.

Ikari III The Rescue [ SNK 1989, HRC, JAMMA+, 2P ]

Two shirtless Rambos fight their way behind enemy lines to rescue a kidnapped hostage. Various military types must be killed by fist, knife, foot or gun. The players are occasionally marauded by tanks and helicopters as they scroll through the field.

Ikari Warriors [ Tradewest 1986, VRC, unique, 2P ]

One or two players fight on land and water to reach the village of Ikari. Players can shoot it out on foot or drive a tank. Features rotary joysticks.

Image Fight [ Irem 1988, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Vertical shoot 'em up with many different types of weapons. You fly over earth and in space. Nice graphics, music and sound effects. Penalty level if hit-ratio is too low. You crash if you hit any cliffs or walls.

Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom [ Atari 1985, HRC, Atari System 1, 2P ]

Become Indiana Jones! Free kidnapped children by finding their cages and whipping them open. Jump into the mines for a wild ride on a mine cart. Make it to the bottom, and then grab the Sankhara stone from the altar. Face Mola Ram on a rope bridge after getting all five stones.

Indoor Soccer [ Universal 1985, HRC, Universal, 2P ]

Two on two soccer.

Inferno [ Williams 1984, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Players walk around a 3/4 perspective maze shooting at various enemies. After shooting an enemy the enemy's "soul" (a dark version of itself) attempts to make it's way to the top of the screen to an awaiting monster mouth. The player must touch the enemy soul before it gets there or a more difficult enemy is regenerated. The player may follow a soul into the mouth to battle burning souls.

Interstellar [ Funai 1983, HRC, unique, 1P ]

The game uses laserdisc generated backgrounds which are mostly non-interactive. Move a fighter at the bottom of the screen, in a sideways direction, to avoid enemy shots and to fire on enemy craft. Space fantasy backgrounds and music.

Invader's Revenge [ Zenitone Microtech 1979, VRB, unique, 2P ]

Joust 2: Survival of the Fittest [ Williams 1986, VRC, Williams, 2P ]

Sequel to 1982's Joust. The game involves the same basic play techniques, but with some additional twists. The player is able to switch between ostrich and pegasus mounts using the "transform" button and a variety of new enemies and background environments are presented.

Jr Pacman [ Bally Midway 1983, VRC, Namco Galaxian, 2P ]

One of many sequels to Pac-Man, this version's innovative features include scrolling mazes, a lack of 'exits' and prizes that not only destroy energizers but also create large dots that slow the players' movements considerably.

You are a VW Bug jumping through eight scenarios collecting money and jewels. Shoot or avoid enemies.

The player controls a Tarzan-like jungle man who must swing across vines in the forest, swim through an aligator infested river, jump rocks while climbing a hill and rescue his woman from a pair of barbaric cannibals.

A vertical-scrolling shoot-em-up. Each level has an asteroid that can be shot to release a humanoid and catching the humanoid with your ship gives you a few seconds of extra points for aliens shot. Aliens that have been missed reappear at the top of the screen getting progressively more aggressive.

KLAX [ Atari 1989, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Player must catch colored blocks rolling down a conveyer belt and stack them by color in vertical columns or, in higher levels, horizontal and diagonal rows. Higher levels also use more colors of blocks. A female voice announces each wave and offers praise for bonus points.

Kageki [ Taito 1988, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A one-on-one boxing type game. Players must defeat a variety of computer-controlled Japanese martial artists before battling their evil tyrant boss.

Kangaroo [ Atari 1983, VRC, unique, 2P ]

A mother kangaroo must climb through the treetops trying to rescue her son while punching out pink monkeys that throw apples at her. The kangaroo may eat fruit along the way to receive points.

Karate Champ [ Data East 1984, VRC, Data East, 2P ]

The first of many karate fighters. Single players compete against a computer opponent while two players fight each other. Players each use two joysticks which allow for a variety of different moves. Best two matches out of three wins. There are three different bonus stages for added fun.

Karnov [ Data East 1987, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

You play a Russian strong-man fighting his way through nine levels in order to piece together a map and complete the game. End-of-level monsters appear during each stage. Finding hidden power-ups along the way can make your job easier.

Kick [ Midway 1981, VRC, Midway MCR, 2P ]

Player controls a man on a unicycle who must catch or pop balloons with his pointy hat. Balloons that get by the player can be kicked back up in the air. Ghosts and Pac-men can also be caught, but not bombs.

Kick Man [ Midway 1981, VRC, Midway MCR, 2P ]

Move a man on a unicycle and catch falling balloons & Pac- men on your head. Use Kick button to make mans legs kick out and knock balloons back up for another try. Balloons stack up 8 high and then man will pop them. Stack Pac-men for bonus points.

Kick Rider [ Universal 1984, HRC, Universal, 2P ]

A road-race game where the view is from above. You control a motorbike with opponents on motorcycles who jostle you with their legs, and the occasional car. Played against the clock with points for passing.

Kicker [ Konami 1985, VRC, Konami, 2P ]

Kung-fu player jumps around multiple level boards, kicking opponents and collecting power-ups and bonus items. Player defeats (by way of three kicks) the board "boss" and advances to the next level.

Kid Niki [ Data East 1986, HRC, Irem, 2P ]

Side-scrolling game in which you are a ninja who uses a spinning sword to attack enemies. Bells are used for gaining power-ups or other weapons. The first end-boss is Death Breath.

Knights of the Round [ Capcom 1992, HRC, JAMMA+, 3P ]

This is a hack and slash game featuring King Arthur. Two other players can join the fight against the enemies. If you gain enough points you gain a level and increase in power.

Knuckle Bash [ Atari Games 1993, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

This game is a typical side scrolling beat-em-up. You choose between three different wrestlers as you try to defeat an evil criminal organization. Two player simultaneous action.

Kozmik Krooz'r [ Bally Midway 1982, HRC, Midway MCRII, 2P ]

Guide Kapt. Krooz'r into the mothership while either shooting, deflecting (with his shield) or avoiding various attacking enemies. Kapt. Krooz'r can only enter the mothership when it extends down a tractor beam. A bonus round, where Kapt Krooz'r must pick up spaceship parts from the Kozmik Junkyard, occurs every fifth round.

Krull [ Gottlieb 1983, VRC, Gottlieb, 2P ]

Tied in with the movie "Krull". Playing Prince Colwyn, you must survive five events which repeat after completion. Increasing difficulty. It uses a dual joystick control panel.

Kung-Fu Master [ Irem 1984, HRC, Irem, 2P ]

This is a horizontal scrolling game with five floors that you must fight your way through to save your girlfried "Sylvia". You must fight various enemies and the clock to the end of each floor where you will find a master of various martial arts. Defeat him and you will proceed up the stairs to the next floor. Defeat the master on the fifth floor and save Sylvia ... for a little while ...

Kuri Kinton [ Taito 1988, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Jump, punch, and kick your way through an underground fortress of evil Ninjas, boxers, and men in space suits to rescue your girlfriend. Five bosses and sub-bosses to conquer. Japanese animation.

LED Storm [ Capcom 1988, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Vertical scrolling race type game. Player has top view and control of car for speed, left, right, and jump. You race across various courses and can force other cars off the road or jump on top of them.

Ladybug [ Universal 1981, VRC, Universal, 2P ]

You control a Ladybug that moves around a maze eating dots while avoiding poison and pursuing insects. The maze has revolving doors that can be used to thwart the insects. Collect letters to form the word "EXTRA" and receive an extra life or spell "SPECIAL" to play bonus levels.

Last Mission [ Data East 1986, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A 'save the world' style top-down vertical shooter where players must destroy a number of enemies before fighting the boss of the stage. After the boss has been destroyed, you move on to the next stage.

Lazarian [ Bally Midway 1981, HRC, unique, 2P ]

The game consists of five distinct, though vaguely related, stages. Your ship can maneuver freely in any direction while firing in the four cardinal directions. Various tunes, including the William Tell Overture, are played throughout the game.

LeMans [ Atari 1976, HRB, unique, 2P ]

Another in a long line of original Atari black and white driving games. You drive the little cars around a track using a steering wheel and other driving type controls.

Legendary Wings [ Capcom 1986, VRC, Capcom, 2P ]

The game is a vertical/horizontal scrolling shoot-em-up where you fly a winged soldier over a Greek mythos style landscape. Shoot and bomb the attacking enemies. The game play switches between horizontal platform and flying levels.

Legionnaire [ Fabtek 1992, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A run through the city and beat up all the bad guys game. Judy has been kidnapped by the crime syndicate and Frank, Chris (a female) and Alfred must save her. Players use the joystick and the Attack and Jump buttons to defeat enemies over five stages.

Liberator [ Atari 1982, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Four laser cannons, one in each screen corner. Rotating planet in screen center. Trackball moves cursor, fire button fires the nearest cannon. Destroy cities & any missiles or ships coming at you. Use your limited shields to defend your cannons.

Lifeforce [ Konami 1986, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Pilot your micro spacecraft through a body, eliminating the viruses, germs and other assorted diseases. Collect the energy capsules and choose the power-up options that you'd like. Defeat the end-bosses that appear at the end of the levels.

Liquid Kids [ Taito 1990, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Hipopo the Hippo must throw his magical water globes at enemies to freeze and damage them. He can then kick these immobilized enemies to destroy them.

Lock 'N Chase [ Taito 1981, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Maneuver your Lupin character through the maze, dodging the pursuing Super D. Along the pathway, collect as many coins and treasures as possible to earn bonus points. Pressing the lock button opens and closes doorways throughout the maze helping to stall or trap the traveling Super D.

Lode Runner [ Irem 1984, HRC, Irem, 2P ]

This raster game is very similar to the home computer game by Broderbund. Your commando runs around a vertical maze of tunnels made of brick and dirt. Use your blaster to dig holes, collect gold nuggets, and escape to the next level.

Lost Tomb [ Stern 1983, VRC, Konami, 2P ]

You must work your way through a pyramid of rooms. You start at the top one and work your way down to the exit room on the bottom. As you enter each room it expands to full screen to allow you to fight your way through to the exit door. You have to avoid getting touched by any of the creatures in the room as you pick up treasure. Your special weapon to use in this game is called "Whip". You have a limited supply of these (of course) and they allow you to clear an area surrounding you when you are getting into trouble or want to wipe out part of a wall.

Lunar Battle [ Atari 1982, HVC, Atari Color Vector, 2P ]

This is the prototype of Gravitar. It runs on a Space Duel PCB and is manufactured in a Space Duel cabinet (two speakers at waist level and two speakers under the marquee versus Gravitar's one and one).

Lunar Lander [ Atari 1979, HVB, unique, 1P ]

Atari's first vector game. Use rotation buttons and giant thruster control to land the Eagle on the surface of the moon. View screen "zooms in" as you approach the lunar surface.

Lunar Rescue [ Taito 1979, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Player controls a lunar lander module that must navigate through a field of asteroids to the bottom of the screen, rescue an astronaut by landing on a plateau, and travel back up to the top through a swarm of flying saucers.

You are the pilot of a fighter or a bomber and you fly over real video landscape blowing up things.

Drive a futuristic motorbike along a diagonally scrolling road, leap gaps, shoot other cars, get the bonuses and power-ups.

A car shaped player moves along a track between checkpoints meanwhile bumping other cars to the side or jumping on or over them. It is necessary to collect fuel cans and to jump across gaps in the road to keep on driving.

Destroy Planets before they form floating in space. Pickup stranded floating spacemen. Avoid/Destroy comets.

Horizontally scrolling (right to left) shoot-em-up. Has big bosses at end of levels. Player can player above or below ground. Above ground play is represented in a 2.5D view. Player can power up ship by collecting robot parts (legs, torso, and big gun) to turn ship into striding robot.

Magic Sword [ Capcom 1990, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Two warriors leave on a quest to destroy the Black orb, which lies at the top of the Dragon Tower. Free trapped adventurers on the way, who will fight along side you. You'll find better weaponry and cooler power-ups near the top of the tower.

Magical Spot [ Universal 1980, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Shoot larvae and grubs dropping from a UFO. Missed larvae will spin cocoons and when a total of seven hatch, they turn into Ultramoths that swarm against your ship. Destroy all the bugs on the screen to increase your rank.

Main Event, The [ Konami 1988, HRC, JAMMA+, 4P ]

A 1 to 4 player wrestling game in which each player has control of a wrestler for a one-fall tag team match. Characters are controlled by a directional joystick, a large light-up action button and a tag button.

Major Havoc [ Atari 1983, HVC, Atari Color Vector, 2P ]

You (Major Havoc) must search out enemy space stations: defeat their space defenses, dock with the mothership and then destroy each robot infested mothership by setting off the reactor.

Make Trax [ Williams 1981, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Player controls a paintbrush to paint paths within a maze. The player is harassed by two fish which can be temporarily destroyed by running them over with a one of two paint rollers located near the maze center. A critter occasionally emerges to leave footprints on painted areas which must then be repainted.

A wrestling game that pits a player against either one of three computer characters or against second player.

You are a mouse in a house of burglar-cats intent on recovering their stolen loot. You get from floor to floor by jumping on trampolines. Various doors are your only defense against the cats.

Marble Madness [ Atari Games 1984, HRC, Atari System I, 2P ]

Guide your marble through various courses to the goal. Obstacles include marble munchers, acid pools, an evil steelie marble, etc. The playing field includes a maze, ice patches, a funnel, catapult, etc.

Mario Bros. [ Nintendo 1983, HRC, Nintendo, 2P ]

Turtles, lobsters, and fireflies come pouring out of the waterworks. Hit the floor beneath them to flip them over, then kick them into the water. Collect coins for bonus.

Mars [ Arctic 1981, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Player flies sputnik-shaped spaceship over left-scrolling landscape. Shoot with machine gun in eight directions. Destroy and ground based enemies. Similar gameplay to Scramble.

A head-to-head street fight between the classic heroes from Marvel Comics. Each character has a list of special moves, plus super-powered infinity moves and infinity gems that increase the characters' abilities.

Characters from the Marvel and Capcom universes compete against eachother. The play style is similar to Capcom's other Vs. entries with the addition of extra character and dual-player controllable team attacks.

Scrolling shoot-em-up game. You are a cool ship with various weapons (1-shot, 3-shot, 5-shot, bomb, laser) destroying enemies on the ground and in the air, taking out other objects along the way. Fast playing game.

Player wrestles other wrestlers around the world in a tournament. Use special moves such as bouncing off the ropes, jumping off the turnbuckle, and even wrestle outside of the ring.

Mayday M'aidez [ unknown 1981, HRC, unique, 2P ]

The players ship flies over a horizontally scrolling planet surface. Waves of enemy ships attack and must be destroyed for the player to advance to the next planet. Mayday button slows the game down for five seconds. Players ship fires both forward and back.

Mega Force [ Tehkan 1985, VRC, Tehkan, 2P ]

Pilot your spaceship over islands floating in space, shooting enemy spacecraft and ground targets. Pick up the special symbols for bonuses and power-ups. Levels are designated by Greek letters and the end boss must be defeated before advancing to the next stage.

Megazone [ Konami 1983, VRC, Konami, 2P ]

Fight your way through the Megazone in this overhead shooter. Features multiple paths and giant mechanical eyeballs.

Mercs [ Capcom 1990, VRC, JAMMA+, 3P ]

One to three army mercenaries travel through seven missions to rescue the President of the US. You are armed with unlimited ammo for your gun and a limited supply of bombs to battle army soldiers. Pick up special weapons (flame thrower, special guns, more bombs) on the way. Ride in jeeps, tanks, and boats on the missions. Playtime is based on a lifeline which decreases as you get hit.

Mexico '86 [ Konami 1986, HRC, Konami, 4P ]

A soccer game based on the World Cup challenge in 1986. Winning seven games will win your team the cup. Each game has two halves and the score must be tied by half time to continue playing.

Michael Jackson's Moonwalker [ Sega 1990, HRC, Sega System 18, 3P ]

Michael has to rescue the children, kidnapped by Mr. BIG, using Bubbles the chimp and his moonwalking and dancing (smartbomb) skills. The game's soundtrack features hits such as "Bad", "Smooth Criminal" and "Beat It".

Midnight Resistance [ Data East 1989, HRC, JAMMA+, 2P ]

Two commandos have a huge stockpile of military hardware at their disposal as they attempt to rescue their kidnapped family. Run through military bases and crawl through tunnels all the while shooting in every direction using rotational joysticks.

Mikie [ Konami 1984, VRC, Konami, 2P ]

Guide Mikie around the school, classroom, and locker room to collect hearts which make up a letter from his girlfriend. Head-butt teachers and throw basketballs at them. Very nice soundtrack, but insanely difficult.

Basically a Defender clone, only better due to its crisper and more well-balanced graphics. It uses a knob handle for vertical movement rather than all buttons.

Missile Command [ Atari 1980, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Using three atomic missile launching bases you defend your cities against incoming missiles. Enemy missiles may seperate into several missiles so shoot them down early because you only have a limited number of missiles.

Mission 660 [ Taito 1986, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Basically just a classic simple space shoot-em-up space theme. You must clear wave after wave of different types of enemy ships. Eventually you make it to a big ship which takes many hits to destroy, then the cycle starts over again.

Mission: XX [ United Artists Theater Amusements Inc. 1987, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Fairly similar to most overhead shooters of the time. The player moves an attack jet up a vertically scrolling screen shooting air and land targets with guns and bombs. Features various unremarkable power ups.

Moon Cresta [ Nichibutsu 1980, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Aliens swarm at the top of the screen, swooping down on your spacecraft. Your craft begins with three segments, one deployed at a time. After every two levels, you are able to attempt docking the segments together. A successful dock gives you more firepower for the upcoming levels.

Moon Patrol [ Williams 1982, HRC, Irem, 2P ]

Player drives a moon buggy jumping over craters, rocks and land mines, shooting simultaneously at rocks in front and aliens above while dodging their missiles. Features very catchy background music and cute bouncing tires when the buggy is destroyed. Foreground and background terrain scroll at different rates giving the illusion of depth.

Moon Shuttle [ Nichibutsu 1981, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Your space ship on the left side of the horizontally scrolling screen dodges and shoots at asteroids, hostile ships and the like.

Mortal Kombat [ Midway 1992, HRC, JAMMA+, 2P ]

A player versus opponent fighting game with digitized character and background graphics. The game was quite controversial when it was released due to the amount of blood and gore it showed during competition. This title also started the infamous "Fatality" trend where the player could perform a special combination of joystick moves and button presses that would violently kill an opponent at the end of a match.

Mortal Kombat II [ Midway 1993, HRC, JAMMA+, 2P ]

A fast-paced, head-to-head fighting game with twelve characters to choose from -- each one with his or her own special moves. Lots of blood and gore with special endings (e.g. Fatality, Friendship, and Babality) that depend upon the combination of moves performed by the winner at the end of the match.

Motorace USA [ Williams 1983, VRC, Irem, 2P ]

A motorcycle that is controlled by a joystick dodges cars. The goal is to make it to different cities. Different views are directly above the cycle in one stage, and behind and slightly up in another.

Mouse Trap [ Exidy 1982, HRC, unique, 2P ]

You are a mouse in a maze who must avoid cats and hawks while searching for cheese and bonus items. Eating bonus items will allow you to become a dog. Pressing color buttons will change the maze.

Mouser [ COSMOS 1983, VRC, unique, 2P ]

You, a cat, chase and catch mice in a seven-story house attempting to earn ladder parts needed to reach your girlfriend on the top floor. Devil mice and a dog attempt to stop you. Bonus items are fish and money.

Mr. Do! [ Universal 1982, VRC, Universal, 2P ]

You are a clown who moves around a maze. You can dig new paths to avoid monsters and collect cherries. Kill monsters with a 'powerball' or drop apples on them. Kill them all or eat all the cherries to go up a level.

Mr. Do!'s Castle [ Universal 1983, VRC, Universal, 2P ]

Mr Do!, the clown, moves around six floors interconnected by ladders -- some fixed, some whose top can be pushed left or right. Baddies look like unicorns. He has a hammer which can knock out floor stones.

Mr. Do!'s Wild Ride [ Universal 1984, HRC, Universal, 2P ]

Mr Do!, the clown, runs along a rollercoaster track, which loops around the screen, attempting to reach the goal. He must avoid on-coming cars moving down the track by climbing ladders. Pick up cherries and flags for additional bonuses. Played against the clock.

Vertical scroller where you "Mr. Viking" explore and attack picking up goodies and special weapons along the way.

Ms. Pac-man must eat all the dots in each maze in order to advance to the next maze. She's chased by killer ghosts but can eat them while powered up after eating one of four large dots. Fruits appear and wander the maze, which can be eaten for bonus points.

This is a one- or two-player simultaneous side-scroller. You are a futuristic police officer arresting or obliterating drug dealers, junkies, and attack dogs using machine guns and rocket launchers. There is a horizontal driving phase. The game is very graphically violent.

We've all seen it: two-on-two basketball with digitized images of real NBA players, and no referee. Monster dunks and announcers, and a LOT of fun!

This is a collection of three popular Namco classics: Galaga, Xevious, and Mappy. The player steers a futuristic car along the surface of a planet collecting colored crystals and firing at enemies. Bonus rounds occur at fixed distances where the object is to shoot as many enemies as possible.

Humourous characters "of the night" battle each other to be the best fighter.

The Ninja has perfected five techniques to help him on his voyage. As he scourges each zone to eliminate the enemies, items appear from trash cans, signs, etc. His mission is to fight his way through six U.S. cities and destroy the enemy.

Your are either a male or female ninja. Use your daggers and ninja stars to defeat military personnel, monsters, and various other "bad guys". At the end of each level there is a Boss to defeat.

Destroy enemy tanks before they get you. Some enemies are active, some are dormant waiting for an active one to be killed so they can take its place. Dormant tanks worth 2x. Quirky tune and tanks speed up as game progresses.

Using your spaceship, fire upon swarms of attacking enemies and pick up the bonus markers left by the destroyed spacecraft. A level is complete when all the enemies have been destroyed. The joystick control has a button on top that is used for maintaining a stationary position on the screen.

Player controls an "Omegan Space Fighter", and attempts to destroy waves of enemy droid ships. Battle takes place on a rectangular "track". Player's ship bounces off invisible walls of track.

Two players. Each player controls his/her spaceship (shaped like the Star Trek Enterprise and Klingon ships) trying to destroy each other's ship. One hit will either partially or completely destroy the others ship. If partially, and space stations are selected you can repair and rearm your ship to go back for revenge. This game is timed so there is no limit on the number of ships you can have.

Side-scrolling shooter. Guide your WWII aircraft through enemy territory wiping out aircraft and bases on your way to the mission objective to be destroyed. Collect the many power-ups to help you on your way.

Pacman with arms, legs and face navigates through scrolling cartoon worlds. Avoid obstacles to reach home. Ghosts chase you in cars, aeroplanes and flying saucers. Hidden bonuses: fruit, flying boots, etc. Cute game.

A yellow, pie-shaped character named Pac-Man runs along inside a maze, eating dots as it avoids four ghosts. Guys in safari hats travel the world, avoiding bouncing coloured bubbles that fragment into smaller ones when hit. Each screen has a backdrop of a famous place in the world. Clearing all the bubbles advances you to the next screen.

You control a kid on a bicycle who delivers papers to the subscribed customers while avoiding people and obstacles found on the street. An obstacle course at the end provides a break from the street scene.

You are a penguin in a maze of ice-blocks. Slide the blocks to squash the Sno-Bees chasing you or electrocute them by trapping them along a wall. Score 10,000 points for aligning three special diamond blocks. Bonus points are awarded for finishing a level quickly.

A platform game with three different boards; Junk Yard, Cavern, and Tree. The object is to collect items like bottles, watches, hats, balls, and cans and bring them back to your nest. However, you must avoid a variety of animals such as rats, cats, dogs, bats and owls who are either in your way or are out to get you.

Phoenix [ T.P.N. Corporation 1980, VRC, unique, 2P ]

A spaceship which moves left and right horizontally at the bottom of the screen must destroy bird-shaped spaceships, birds, and finally a mothership at the end of each level. The player's ship is equipped with a shield that requires seven seconds to regenerate before it can be used again.

Pigskin 621 A.D. [ Bally Midway 1990, HRC, JAMMA+, 2P ]

Play Football with Barbarians! Basic football-ish game play on a field filled with Weapons, Traps, and yes, even paid-off bystanders which will do anything to slow you down! And just when your wiping the floor with your opponent, some of his/her teammates are replaced with trolls!

Piranha [ GL 1981, VRC, Namco Galaxian, 2P ]

You control a red piranha with your 4-way joystick eating all the dots on the screen while avoiding four squids that are after you. The four corners each have a "energizer pellet" that, once eaten, allows you to attack and eat the squid who were chasing you. Clearing all edible objects from the screen advances you to the next screen.

Pit Fighter [ Atari 1990, HRC, JAMMA, 3P ]

Chop-socky with digitized fighters. Choose between a wrestler, a kick-boxer, and a "third degree black belt", and fight your way to the "ultimate warrior".

Pit, The [ Centuri 1981, VRC, unique, 2P ]

A saucer lands at the top of the screen, separated from a tank by a mountain. The player must dig underground tunnels, grab jewels, and return to the saucer before the tank shoots through the mountain and chases away the saucer. Various hazards include falling rocks and enemies that chase you, which you can shoot.

Play Choice [ Nintendo 1986, HRC, unique, 2P ]

A multi-game system that would allow a user to select a game from a list of up to ten titles. The game software used was originally designed for the Nintendo Entertaiment System (a home gaming system). Game play and subject varied from game to game.

Pleiades [ Centuri 1981, VRC, unique, 2P ]

This is the sequel to Phoenix, a vertical space shooter. In this multi-wave game, enemy ships come at you in scrolling waves. Growing bird-like ships swoop down at the player's ship as more enemy ships spring forth from the mothership. During the final wave, the player must navigate around parked ships to hit landing pad right on. Waves repeat in same order.

Plotting [ Taito 1989, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Plotting is a game where the player elements a given number of squares by hitting it with either a square with the same pattern on it or a wild square. It is a two player game, but there is no interaction between either player. The screen is broken in half where each player's game is on half the screen.

Pocket Gal 2 [ Data East 1988, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Pool game. Four levels, each denoted by a different woman. Score enough points to cause the woman to strip and advance to the next level. Trick shots between frames. Two-player option, best of three frames.

Pole Position [ Atari 1982, HRC, unique, 1P ]

Select one of four challenging courses to race your Indy car! Finishing the course before the timer runs out results in extended play. Beware of road hazards and other cars! Colorful landscapes and advertising bill-boards line each of the Fuji, Test, Suzuka, and Seaside race tracks.

Table Tennis type game. Most people are familiar with it. Keep the ball in play and hope your opponent misses.

Pong Doubles [ Atari 1972, HTB, unique, 4P ]

Follow-up game to Pong but up to four people can play. Two players on one side bat a ball to the other side where it is fielded by the other two players. You can even play one on one if you are ambidextrious.

Pooyan [ Stern 1982, VRC, Konami, 2P ]

Armed with a bow and arrow and slabs of meat, mama pig must defend/save her piglets from the wolves ballooning up or down the cliff. Move up and down, shoot the balloons, watch the wolves plummet and splat. Various bonus rounds. A cutesy game.

Popeye [ Nintendo 1982, HRC, Nintendo, 2P ]

In a color raster game typical of Nintendo's early-80's output, you are Popeye and must win the love of Olive Oyl in three different scenarios without getting knocked out by Bluto. The game's three screens are the dock scene, a street scene and a shipboard level. These repeat with increasing difficulty. Your main weapon against this relentless brute is the cans of spinach which appear at the beginning of each screen. Only with these can you temporarily knock Bluto out. Meanwhile, Olive (who stands at the upper part of the screen) tosses hearts, musical notes and "Help!" cries (on each of the three screen, respectively), all of which must be caught by you or you lose your turn. The other Popeye characters -- Sea Hag, Wimpy and the Vulture -- appear at various points as well. You must also dodge the frequent projectiles thrown by Bluto and the Sea Hag, as well as Bluto's punches.

Power Drift [ Sega 1988, HRC, unique, 1P ]

A 3D sprite based racing game. 25 tracks, many racers, jumps, bridges etc. Five groups of tracks, A-E, only one of which can be raced per game. After completing five tracks, the game is over.

Primal Rage [ Atari Games 1994, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Primal Rage is a desperate, global head-to-head battle for survival featuring seven life like digitized dinosaurs. Each of the seven characters has an arsenal of nearly seventy moves, including special and finishing moves. Each character had its own ending.

Professor Pac-Man [ Midway 1983, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Professor Pac-Man (in mortarboard and academic gown) asks a series of multiple-choice questions. Hit the buttons to answer before time runs out.

Psychic 5 [ Jaleco 1987, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Excellent vertical maze type game. You can control five different characters, each with their own special powers. You need to change between them to complete each level. Features the ability to win a FREE game. If you hit the witch with the hammer you can fly through walls for a limited time.

Psycho Soldier [ SNK 1986, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

This side-scroller features Athena, the character who first appeared in a game called "Athena" and also later in the Neo-Geo "King of Fighters" series. This was the first game to use a fully digitized, full-length vocal sountrack.

Punch-Out! [ Nintendo 1984, HRC, unique, 1P ]

A first person perspective boxing game where you fought six boxers in the WVBA through a green wire frame model. The commentator said quotes as "Body blow!", "Stick and move!" and "Great fighting! You're an up and coming boxer!"

Punk Shot [ Konami 1990, HRC, JAMMA+, 4P ]

Two-on-two ghetto basketball game for one to four people. Players can pass or shoot when they have the ball, or punch and kick when the opposition does. Various obstacles (manholes, etc.) also add to gameplay.

Puzznic [ Taito 1989, HRC, JAMMA, 1P ]

A puzzle game where you eliminate blocks by moving two or more of the same kind together. Completing levels slowly reveals a risque picture of a lady.

Pyros [ Taito 1987, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

You move through the various stages battling zombie-like creatures collecting money and eventually rescuing the princess. Shop between stages to purchase health, time, and more powerful weapons.

Q*bert [ Gottlieb 1982, VRC, Gottlieb, 2P ]

Two-legged, big-nosed, orange thing jumps diagonally around on a pyramid, changing the color of the blocks he lands on. Lure Coily, the snake, to his demise by jumping off the edge of the pyramid onto flying disks. Avoid most moving objects and characters. Hop on a green ball to freeze time temporarily. Nine levels of four rounds each.

Qix [ Taito 1981, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Draw boxes to claim as much screen as possible without getting in the path of the "Qix" and "Sparx". Draw slower for more points and hope that you have enough coins. Simple but very addicting!

Quantum [ Atari 1983, VVC, unique, 2P ]

Enter a subatomic world. Using the trackball, capture particles by circling them with your probes tail. Player surpassing the high score gets to "draw" his name with the trackball.

Quarterback [ Leland 1987, VRC, Cinemat System, 2P ]

Play one of several NFL and AFL teams, choosing offensive and defensive patterns. Alternate between the sets of Offense and Defense controls at each turnover. Unique passing control pulls back and to either side, then snaps forward when released.

R-Type [ Nintendo 1987, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Scrolling shoot-em-up game. Use your force to help kill the aliens. Pick up power-ups that appear when you kill "Armos". Power-ups help you get stronger. They include air-to-ground, reflective, air-to-air, heat-seeking lasers, and speed-ups.

R-Type II [ Irem 1989, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

One of the first great side-scrolling shooters. Fly through tunnels, shooting organic and metallic aliens with a boss at the end of each level. Cool power-ups, including a detachable floating gun/shield combo.

R-Type Leo [ Irem 1992, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

The third installment of the sideways scrolling shoot-em-up classic. The customary orb has been replaced with two smaller orbs which power-up with assorted devastation. Six levels of action-packed carnage.

Rabbit Punch [ Bally 1987, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Round rabbits wearing boxing gloves fly from left to right through scrolling scenery punching, shooting flying enemies with a laser or firing carrot missiles. Power-ups are available in the form of canned carrots. Dying rabbits emit shrill cries of death.

Race Drivin' [ Atari Games 1988, HRC, unique, 2P ]

A racing game with three seperate tracks: stunt, autocross, and super stunt track. You can choose from four different cars using either an automatic or manual transmission. Race around each track earning points for distance travelled, passing checkpoints to earn more time.

Rad Action [ UPL 1987, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A horizontal scroller where the character you control explores various forests and mazes.

Radar Scope [ Nintendo 1980, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Your ship moves horizontally at the bottom of the playfield. Shoot at alien ships in the rows at the top and as they dive-bomb you.

Raiden [ Seibu Kaihatsu 1990, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Guide your fighterplane through several levels by shooting anything with your laser or bullets that comes along. Increase your fire power by picking up blue and red boxes and bombs. At the end of each level, destroy the big nasty boss.

Raiden DX [ Seibu Kaihatsu 1994, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Vertical scrolling shoot-em-up that adds new features to its prequel Raiden II. Choose from three separate missions: Training (special stage), Alpha (levels 1-5) and Bravo (levels 1-9). Collect various power-ups to increase your weaponry. Lots of secrets and bonuses including ratings based upon player performance.

Rainbow Islands - The Story of Bubble Bobble 2 [ Taito 1987, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Platform game with players racing to reach the top of each level by jumping on platforms. Players can fire rainbows to kill enemies or to stand on. Bonus points are scored by collecting items dotted around level and bonuses left by killing enemies.

Rally Bike [ Taito 1988, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Drive a motorcycle through a series of obstacles and pass other riders. Passing enough of your opponents will allow you to reach the next level.

Rally X [ Namco 1982, HRC, unique, 2P ]

You control a small car running around in a maze. There are of course the obvious "bad guys", namely other cars that try to force an accident with you. While you try to dodge the other cars (and there's more of them in each level!) you have to collect the ten yellow flags to get more points. There's also a timer and a fuel gauge to take into account.

Rampage [ Bally Midway 1986, HRC, Midway Mono Board, 3P ]

Three people can play at once, each player being a different giant monster that terrorizes cities throughout North America.

Rampart [ Atari 1990, HRC, JAMMA+, 3P ]

Build up a castle using Tetris-like pieces to form a wall enclosing your territory. Next, place cannons, and then use them to fire upon enemy boats or opposite player's castle! Then it's back to rebuilding your castle before another round of destruction.

Rastan [ Taito 1987, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A barbarian's adventure across varying terrain while encountering an assortment of mythological creatures and weapons

Reactor [ Gottlieb 1982, HRC, Gottlieb, 2P ]

The player uses his ship to deflect enemy particles into the Reactor wall without getting defelcted into the wall himself. Meanwhile, the Reactor core is constantly expanding (unless the player deflects the enemy particles into the sets of control rods located on the screen) and in later levels turns into a vortex which can "suck" the player's ship in. The player can use energy to make the deflections more forceful or use decoys to fool the enemy particles.

Real (TM) Ghost Busters, The [ Data East 1987, HRC, JAMMA+, 3P ]

Up to three players run around a top-down universal scrolling terrain shooting creatures while trying to suck up their ghosts with plasma guns.

Red Alert [ Irem 1981, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Defend six cities against attacking enemies. Assault waves consist of planes, helicopters, night bombers, and MIRV bombs.

Red Baron [ Atari 1980, HVO, unique, 1P ]

A black and white vector game. First-person perspective flight simulator. Single, analog "gimble-type" joystick with fire button. Engage enemy biplanes during a WWI dogfight. Long range kills score big, accompanied by "Charge" tune.

Red Clash [ Kaneko 1982, VRC, Namco Galaxian, 2P ]

You pilot a space ship that can move in all four directions, but only fires straight up in the direction you are scrolling, through space or vertical canyons. Flying saucers & other space meanies rain down upon you in criss-crossing formations. Screen level is a cat symbol.

Reel Fun [ Grayhound 1986, VRC, unique, 4P ]

Rip off of the TV gameshow "Wheel of Fortune". Uses higher dollar amounts.

Regulus [ Sega 1983, VRC, Sega, 2P ]

Pilot an egg shaped tank in a vertical scrolling shoot-em-up. Fire missiles and bombs at insect-like enemies, shoot ground and flying targets.

Relief Pitcher [ Atari 1992, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Baseball game with play-by-play announcer, and option of playing a standard baseball game or playing as a relief pitcher through a series of games. Doesn't use real teams or players but allows operator to choose up to 4 cities for players to select from. Keeps detailed statistics.

Renegade [ Taito 1986, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

This game pits you against a gang of punks. Play starts off on a subway platform with a seedy, underworld atmosphere. The game is colorful and has speech, but it seems to be more popular in the UK than the US.

Return of the Jedi [ Atari 1984, HRC, unique, 1P ]

The player controls an on-screen ship in one of three different stages -- Speeder Bikes, the Millenium Falcon and an AT-ST walker -- in a 3rd person perspective, shooting enemies and avoiding obstacles to reach the end of each stage.

Revolution X [ Williams 1994, HRC, JAMMA+, 3P ]

Explore a maze of locations shooting the bad guys and freeing members of the band Aerosmith.

Rim Rockin' Basketball [ Strata 1991, HRC, JAMMA, 4P ]

This four-player game approaches basketball with a more serious attitude than some of the more well-known modern basketball games. Control one of five players on your team: Dribble, pass, shoot into the basket for score! Now repeat.

Ring King [ Data East 1985, VRC, Data East, 2P ]

A side-perspective boxing game. Chase your opponent around the ring attempting to knock him out before the bell rings. Opponents become more and more experienced as the levels progress.

Rip Off [ Cinematronics 1980, HVB, Cinematronics B&W Vector, 2P ]

The player uses a tank-like vehicle to protect fuel canisters from the game-controlled "pirate" tanks. Pirate tanks hook-up and drag the canisters off screen. The game speed and difficulty increase with each successive wave until all the canisters have been "ripped off".

Road Blasters [ Atari 1987, HRC, Atari System I, 1P ]

Futuristic driving game where you have to shoot opponents and collect fuel globes. Collect power-up weapons by catching them from above. Shortly after its release, you could win a free Atari T-shirt by completing all 50 levels. Digitized speech, effects and music throughout.

Road Runner [ Atari Games 1986, HRC, Atari System I, 2P ]

The player portrays the Road Runner who must outmaneuver and outsmart Wile E. Coyote while eater seed along the way in order to stay alive. It also has full-stereo music scores from Road Runner and other Looney Tunes.

RoboCop [ Data East 1988, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A side scrolling platform game, RoboCop fights bad guys in several settings based on the feature film. Digitized sounds of RoboCop such as "Drop It!" and "Thank you for your co-operation."

Robotron: 2084 [ Williams 1982, HRC, Williams, 2P ]

The object of Robotron: 2084 is to save the last human family (although it seems they had a really big family) and kill anything or anyone who gets in your way. Two joysticks, one which controls firing and one which controls movement.

Roc 'N' Rope [ Konami 1983, VRC, Konami, 2P ]

You play an archeologist whose mission is to return the missing feathers to the golden Phoenix. Use your harpoon-gun to fire a rope to higher platforms and then climb up. Use your flashlight to dazzle (stun) the attacking dinosaurs and cavemen.

You are a secret agent. Your mission: to stop the evil hooded criminals and rescue your girlfriend. The albatross, the evil looking green guy, is watching.

Choose from ten different wrestlers in this four-player wrestling/fighting game. Each wrestler has an assortment of moves, including his own special super slam. The game play is similar to Street Fighter 2, using many of the same control motions. The object of the game is to win and defend the championship by pinning or putting a submission hold on your opponent.

Horizontal scrolling submarine game. Guide your submarine through a hail of depth charges, mines, enemy ships and subs. Collect fuel, triple guns, missiles, and shield on the way. Fight a tough sub at the end of each section.

Player controls a spaceship that must infiltrate the enemy Scramble system in this side-view shooter/bomber classic. Player must destroy the Base at the end of the system.

Sea Wolf [ Midway 1978, HRB, Midway 8080, 1P ]

Timed submarine game where player looks through a large periscope to aim at ships moving across the top of the screen. Torpedos are launched with a thumb button on the right handle of the scope. Mines floating across the screen can block players torpedos. Fast-moving PT Boat (worth most points) is hardest to hit. Game ends when time expires. Bonus time is added when player reaches operator-selectable point level.

Search and Rescue [ SNK 1989, VRC, JAMMA+, 2P ]

You must investigate the disappearance of an exploratory ship on an alien world. Shoot aliens monsters and navigate the high corridors. Pick up special weapons along the way.

Section Z [ Capcom 1985, HRC, Capcom, 2P ]

A horizontal/vertical-scrolling shoot-em-up. You control a red spaceman with a jetpack and laser gun who flys through tunnels shooting at attacking enemies. Sections are labeled "A" to "Z" with end-of-level level craft appearing at E, J, O, T and Z.

Senjyo [ Tehkan 1983, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Control the cross-hairs of a tank and shoot at ships on the horizon. Shoot enough to progress to next level for more of the same. The game has a very limited 3-D effect of the ships and bullets coming towards you.

You are a Ninja that uses throwing stars and a sword to vanquish your enemies. Your partner is a white dog that follows you wherever you go as you clear each level Horizontal/Vertical scroller with bonus and "BOSS" waves.

The game is mainly a horizonal scrolling shoot-em-up, although some scenes scroll vertically too. Shooting enemies will reveal power-ups and continunally shooting the power-ups will either change their type or reveal a special weapon. Different weapons are more effective than others when fighting the end bosses.

A story-based fighting game using your fists, feet, and various weapons. You continue to beat up the bad guys as you proceed to the right side of the screen. At the end of each section there is a Boss to defeat.

Silk Worm [ Tecmo 1988, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

You control either the jeep or helicopter traveling through enemy terrain. Jeep: shoots machine gun or jumps. Helicopter: shoots machine gun or cannon. Collect power cells and destroy enemy crafts until the "MH-C2" is reached. Destroy it and save the world from its evil tyranny.

Simpsons, The [ Konami 1991, HRC, Konami, 4P ]

4-player co-op game where players assume the roles of Homer, Marge, Bart, or Lisa Simpson. Goal: save Maggie and recover the stolen diamond.

Sinistar [ Williams 1983, VRC, Williams, 2P ]

A small, triangular fighter ship is maneuvered by the player through a series of "Zones" in the galaxy. The player must blast Sinisite crystals out of planetoids while fending off attacking enemy drones and Warrior ships. Collect enough crystals to destroy the evil Sinistar before he kills you.

Sky Adventure [ SNK 1989, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Choose between four plans to repel the attack of Colonel Claud. Flying over various terrain you are attacked from the air and the ground from a variety of flying machines, animals, plants, and huge boulders. Score is kept on an "Act" basis, and a higher score at the end of each act will net you larger bonus, as in an extra ship or more fire power.

Sky Fox [ Jaleco 1987, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A multi-stage space shoot 'em up. Fight women ("foxes"?) riding on dragons, eliminate a screen-full of aliens, dodge and/or shoot large asteroids, and destroy end bosses.

Sky Kid [ Namco 1985, HRC, Namco Galaga, 2P ]

You play a bi-plane pilot on missions to bomb enemy targets. Left to right scrolling screen, shoot at enemy planes and trucks. Fly down and pick up the bomb as you go along. Cartoon-style graphics and great music.

Sky Shark [ Taito 1987, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Take your plane on a bombing run over land and sea. Overhead view of plane with easily ten or twenty enemies on screen and firing at you at any time. Blow open buildings to reveal hidden tanks before they can come outside and shoot at you.

Skydiver [ Atari 1978, HRO, unique, 2P ]

The object of the game is to guide a skydiver from a travelling plane to a like-colored ground target. The player must watch the wind speed and direction and judge the target position, plane speed, and duration of freefall before pulling the rip cord. After that, the player must guide the skydiver onto the target by moving the rip cord control either left or right.

Slap Fight [ Taito 1986, VRC, unique, 2P ]

The player, flying a ship over a vertically scrolling background, shoots the enemies using a variety of weapons. These weapons, as well as higher speed, shield and power up are obtained by collecting and trading in stars.

A "game show of the future" format with controls and objectives like Robotron. one or two players attempt to collect prizes and cash as well as keys while staying alive. The game is somewhat graphic in opponent deaths as well as player deaths

Guide a dot-munching, stretch-legged SnapJack through right to left scrolling scenes of landscape and tunnels. Avoid, among others, jelly fish and of course the kettles and boots on the overhead conveyor.

Snow Bros. [ Toaplan 1990, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Two snowmen (Nick and Tom) battle cute Japanese critters over 50 platform based screens. Turn the enemy critters into snowballs and then boot them around the platforms knocking down everything in their path. Pick up Sushi for exra points. When a screen is cleared of monsters you move on to the next level.

Solar Fox [ Bally Midway 1981, VRC, Midway MCR, 2P ]

Run over or shoot "Fuzors" while ships on each of the four sides of the screen travel back and forth or up and down trying to shoot you.

Solar Quest [ Cinematronics 1981, HVO, Cinematronics B&W Vector, 2P ]

A space combat vector game with an overhead perspective. Eliminate waves of alien ships invading your solar system. Rescue the survivors before they fall into the sun and perish.

Solar Warrior [ Memetron 1986, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Run/jump/shoot platform game. Fight enemies on different planets in the solar system! Levels alternate between typical platform style and a side-scrolling shooter as you fly to the next planet. Jet boots for extra-high jumps!

Solomon's Key [ Tecmo 1986, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Using magic wand to create and destroy blocks, get the key and exit the room. Gets progressively harder to figure out how to get the key and exit.

You are Dexter (call me ACE) trying to rescue Kimmie, your wanna be girfriend, from the Evil Borf who has an infanto ray that can turn you into a baby. Cartoon animation by Don Bluth of Disney fame.

Space Duel [ Atari 1982, HVC, Atari Color Vector, 2P ]

Color vector game where player's ship shoots colored geometric shaped "asteroids", mines, enemy ships, and opposing player's ship. A bonus wave adds a multiplyer to the player's score when all bonus objects are shot.

Space Dungeon [ Taito 1981, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Piloting a pie-shaped spacecraft, you must move from sector to sector collecting treasure while avoiding enemies and corner-mounted lasers. The more treasure you have with you the higher your bonus when you reach the goal. A "thief" roams the sectors collecting treasure at the same time, but shooting the thief causes him to drop all his treasure.

Space Firebird [ Nintendo 1980, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Move a space ship left and right across the bottom of the screen avoiding the diving and swirling enemy space ships. Fire up to four missiles at a time and press warp to launch the spaceship up the screen with destructive shield activated.

Space Fortress [ Century 1981, VRC, Konami, 2P ]

Defend a space fortress against alien attackers in this three scenario game. Blast the bad guys and avoid tractors beams. One of the earliest games to feature speech.

Space Fury [ Sega/Gremlin 1981, HVC, Sega G80 System, 2P ]

The player pilots a spaceship on a color vector display against waves of alien ships lead by a one-eyed creature that taunts the player before each round. The player can dock between rounds to receive extra firepower.

Space Invaders [ Taito 1978, VRC, unique, 2P ]

The original space alien vertical shooter. Move your tank back and forth along the bottom of the screen and shoot endless waves of aliens marching towards earth. Shoot the flying saucer for extra points.

Space Lords [ Atari 1992, HRC, JAMMA+, 8P ]

First person fly through space game. You shoot or nuke various opponents with a gunner to help. Balance your ship's attributes between speed, agility, shields, and firepower.

Space Race [ Atari 1973, HRB, unique, 2P ]

Space Race is a game in which two players race upward on a black and white screen avoiding one-scan line "asteroids" flying from the left. Only speed can be controlled. When a player is stuck, his opponent gains a point. When the timer runs out, the game is over.

Space Wars [ Cinematronics 1977, HVB, unique, 2P ]

Two player only game where each player flies around space and tries to shoot each other. Features include partial damage, modifying gravity and inertia. Controls are fire, thrust, rotate left and right, hyperspace and reset.

Spectar [ Exidy 1980, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Steer your battleship around a geometric grid to avoid collisions with enemy ships and fire upon these ships for points. Run over the twirling stars for more points. A level is complete when either all the enemy ships have been destroyed or all the stars have been collected.

Speed Buggy [ Data East 1984, HRC, unique, 1P ]

Drive through different terrains avoiding other vehicles and picking up bonus items. Gates provide bonus points.

Speed Freak [ Vectorbeam 1978, HVB, unique, 1P ]

The gameplay is timed and consists of controlling a car along a desolate road, avoiding oncoming traffic and police roadblocks and passing by cacti, cows, and hitchikers. There are two different crash scenes, one with automotive parts flying (axle, wheel, etc.) and one with a simple cracking of the windsheild.

Speed Rumbler, The [ Capcom 1986, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Terrorists have taken Super Joe's family and a number of townspeople hostage. You must drive your gun-equipped car through dangerous streets to free the hostages and collect power-ups. If your vehicle is severely damaged, you may jump free and continue to fight on foot.

Spider-Man [ Sega 1991, HRC, Sega System 32, 4P ]

Guide Spider-Man, Black-Cat, Hawkeye and/or Sub-Mariner as they punch and kick their way through four chapters worth of Dr. Doom's villains. The game zooms between alternate large and small scale (four-way scrolling) sections.

Spiders [ Sigma Ent. Inc. 1981, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Move your missile base back and forth and shoot at a growing spider web and attacking spiders. Every few rounds a woman's face will appear and she will wink at you.

Spinal Breakers [ American Sammy 1988, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

This game is a shooter almost like Cabal, except that your characters are huge and the screen continually scrolls to the right. The object of the game is to help rid the Earth of aliens. Decent animation.

Splat! [ Williams 1982, HRC, Williams, 2P ]

Player has a choice of three characters. Characters wander around a playfield while foodstuffs cascade down from the top. Player grabs a pie (for example) and chucks it at NPCs or the other player.

Sports Match [ Fabtek 1989, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A grid of PI's with sports icons is presented at each level. Before time runs out, match like PI's that are adjacent or those that can be reached with a line with 0 or 1 corners. Special tiles give "help" or "special hand" if there are no more matches.

Springer [ Orca 1982, VRC, unique, 2P ]

You control Springer, a pink rabbit that hops from different cloud levels and a few moving clouds picking up bonus object such as carrots, apples, sunglasses and a toothbrush. Kick the evil dino eggs that will hatch into green dinos all under the watchful eye of a big red sun. Your ultimate objective is to reach the sun at the top of the screen with bonus time remaining and maximum bonus points.

Sprint II [ Kee Games 1978, HRB, unique, 2P ]

Early 2-player B&W driving game with top-down view of track. Controls: steering wheels, accelerator pedals, 4-speed gearshift, track select. Selection between about a dozen tracks. Oil slicks and other cars (opponent or neutral cars) make you lose control. Ratings: Granny, Rookie, Pro. Bonus time (extra 30 "seconds") for completing enough laps.

Spy Hunter [ Bally Midway 1983, VRC, Midway MCRIII, 1P ]

The player is a secret agent driving a car or a boat rigged with all sorts of weapons fighting other bad guys in various vehicles. The player drives on a vertically scrolling road on both drive pavement and snow. The theme music is Peter Gunn.

Spy Hunter II [ Bally Midway 1987, HRC, Midway Mono Board, 2P ]

Driving/shooting game using a 3-D perspective from behind and above the car. The car can attain several different weapons up to four at one time. Two players may play at the same time cooperatively. Peter Gunn theme music plays throughout.

A two-stage game where you first shoot ships flying in and out of a black hole and then eliminate spacecraft on a level with scrolling buildings. Shooting ships increments the time counter. Press the "Freeze" button to stop everything except you.

Star Castle [ Cinematronics 1979, HVO, Cinematronics B&W Vector, 2P ]

You control a ship trying to fire at a cannon (Star Castle) surrounded by three energy rings of twelve segments each. The rings rotate in opposite directions, making a clear firing path somewhat challenging. When that path is open, the cannon fires back at your ship with a big "fuzzball".

Star Fire [ Exidy 1978, HRC, unique, 1P ]

Fly around in space shooting TIE-fighter shaped ships. Occasionally an Exidy mother ship will fly by that you can destroy for big points.

Star Force [ Tehkan 1984, VRC, Tehkan, 2P ]

Pilot your spaceship over islands floating in space, shooting enemy spacecraft and ground targets. Pick up the special symbols for bonuses and power-ups. Levels are designated by Greek letters and the end boss must be defeated before advancing to the next stage.

Jet cycle race on three-lane track with guardrail.

Star Trek [ Sega 1983, HVC, Sega G80 System, 2P ]

Color vector game created by Sega in the late 70's. Comes in sit-down and upright models. Utilizes a spin control with a button for photon torpedos, phasers, warp, and impulse.

Star Wars [ Atari 1983, HVC, unique, 1P ]

Pilot the X-Wing Fighter in the classic colour vector arcade game! Blast away TIE Fighters, zoom across the surface of the Death Star, and roar down the trench with sampled voices and effects from the movie!

Stargate [ Williams 1981, HRC, Williams, 2P ]

The player's ship flies over a horizontally scrolling planet surface, protecting friendly humanoids from alien abduction. Destroying all enemies advances you to the next wave. Loss of all humanoids destroys the planet until it is reinstated every fifth wave.

You fly your ship above a trench, from a first-person perspective, shooting other ships.

You pilot the Starship 1, from a first-person point of view, avoiding planets and shooting enemy space ships for different point values. Achieving 3500 points before time runs out earns you extended play in 'hyperspace'.

The player drives a stock car that is being chased by the police. Avoid on-coming traffic, stay on the road to score more points and drive through gas stations to extend play time. The game ends when you run out of gas, receive three speeding tickets or finish the race.

A horizontal, scrolling shoot-em-up. One or two players try and avoid or shoot the enemy space ships on the screen so they can get to the end of the level.

Two men face off against each other in martial arts matches held on streets in five different countries. The winner of two out of three rounds moves on to the next stage. Bonus stages enable the player to earn more points.

In this sequel, players learn more about the warriors' past. This game allows Custom Combos, unlike the the previous Alpha version.

Two characters fight each other in martial arts matches held on several continents. The winner of two out of three rounds m oves on to the next stage. The game also allows the Boss characters to be chosen for play.

Standard versus chop-socky with fighters Ryu, Ken, Blanka, Chun-li, Vega, etc. Fight using standard moves and "special" moves that consist of button/joystick combos. Features faster speed and new moves for most of the twelve fighters.

Street Fighter II - The World Warrior [ Capcom 1991, HRC, Capcom CPS - JAMMA, 2P ]

The fighting game that revolutionized video games throughout the '90s. Choose one of eight warriors, each with his/her own strengths and weaknesses, and attempt to defeat the other fighters to become the world champion. Battle against computer-controlled opponents or another player.

Street Fighter III [ Capcom 1997, HRC, Capcom CPS II - JAMMA, 2P ]

The perfect blend of the rigidness of Street Fighter 2 with the looseness of Street Fighter Alpha. There are eight characters to choose from including twins with the same abilities and a very annoying boss. Smoother animation than in any previous Street Fighter game.

Street Fighter III - 2nd Impact [ Capcom 1998, HRC, Capcom CPS II - JAMMA, 2P ]

An update to this game's prequel that also uses the CPS3 system. Adds three new selectable characters (including a boss), increases the play speed, and introduces a few new moves along with damage modifications.

Strider [ Capcom 1989, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

You control the action of a futuristic Ninja from the year 2048 A.D. as he battles his way from the rooftops of Moscow though the jungles of the Amazon to the skies over the planet Earth.

A player controls a spaceship on a horizontally (left/right) scrolling playfied. The object is to travel to various planets, shooting aliens and collecting power-ups while saving humans. Once these tasks have been completed, the mothership arrives to pick you up with any humans you may have dangling from your ship.

SubRoc-3D [ Sega 1982, HRC, unique, 2P ]

A fairly strange first-person perspective shoot-em-up. The play involves switching between firing at underwater and air enemies. The interesting feature is that it is in 3D thanks to a special eyepiece.

Wild West beat-em-up/shoot-out.

Super Basketball [ Konami 1984, VRC, Konami, 2P ]

Compete against different computer-controlled teams such as Junior High School, High School, College, University, etc. After you beat a team you will move on to the next until you compete against the ultimate team.

Super Breakout [ Atari 1977, VRO, unique, 2P ]

Move a paddle back and forth at the bottom of the screen to rebound a ball back into a brick wall, knocking bricks out one by one. There are three separate games: double -- same as Breakout, knock down bricks and when they are all gone a new wall forms; cavity -- two other balls are inside the wall, when they have an escape route you can hit them as well; progressive -- as the wall is destroyed, new bricks are added and the entire wall shifts down toward your paddle. The sound effects are just simple beeps.

Super Buster Bros. [ Capcom 1990, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Shoot balls and various other floating/bouncing objects with your gun to clear levels. Travel across Europe in story mode or compete in endurance mode. Very addictive but can be frustratingly hard. Best with a friend in two-player mode.

Super Cobra [ Stern 1981, VRC, Konami, 2P ]

A helicopter flies horizontally through 10 levels, with different enemies on each level, and finally a base where it must capture the booty and escape. A game can be continued where it left off. Catchy theme music.

Super Contra [ Konami 1988, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Players control tough commandos equipped with powerful weaponry that run and jump through strange alien lairs fighting against armies of aliens. The game uses a combination of side view and overhead views. Inspired by the Alien movies.

A witch steals your girlfriend and you, the warrior, must rescue her. You travel through odd rooms and outside scenes (all animated) on your quest to kill the witch.

Eating the Super Power Energizers increases Pac-Man's size, and allows him to speed up. For the duration of thisSuper energizer, he can freely pass over ghosts even of the original dangerous colors.

Super Punch Out is a boxing game where you attempt to defeat 5 different champions, Bear Hugger, Dragon Chan, Vodka Drunkenski, Great Tiger and Super Macho Man. If you defeat all five, you become the champion and defend your title against the same five characters.

Super Qix [ Taito 1987, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

The object is to uncover a background image by drawing rectangles with your cursor. You must avoid several enemies on the screen while doing this. Bonus points are awarded for uncovering a larger portion of the image than the minimum.

Super Space Invaders '91 [ Taito 1991, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Your ship moves left and right at the bottom of the screen shooting wave after wave of space invaders. The new wrinkles include colourful backdrops and impressive power-ups. The best new addition to the game however is the cattle mutilation section where you must defend cows from flying saucers that swoop down and carry the cows away.

Super Spacefortress Macross [ Fabtek 1992, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A fairly typical vertical-scrolling shooter that is based upon the Japanese animation series 'Super Dimensional Fortress Macross'. The game can be set in English or Japanese modes by means of a dipswitch.

Super Sprint [ Atari Games 1986, HMC, Atari System II, 3P ]

Three-player racing on twisty paved tracks. Occasional bonus items appear on track, the first player to run over them picks them up. Use wrenches to improve your car between races, and make sure to beat computer players, or you lose!

Super Street Fighter II - The New Challengers [ Capcom 1993, HRC, Capcom CPS II - JAMMA, 2P ]

Four new characters, Cammy, Fei Long, Dee Jay, and T. Hawk, have been added to the previous list of characters from this series. Also, the graphics and sound have been improved over the earlier versions.

Super Volleyball [ Data East 1989, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Indoor competitive volleyball game where the U.S. can battle Cuba, Japan, China, and U.S.S.R. Player controls bumping, spiking, blocking, and serving. Killer spikes are rewarded with a cry of "Nice spike!", a cheering crowd, and a goofy picture of the spiking player.

Super Zaxxon [ Sega 1982, VRC, Sega Zaxxon, 2P ]

You pilot an attack shuttle whose mission is to strafe the enemy's "Asteroid City". Destroy fuel tanks, gun implacements, missiles, fighters and a large dragon. The game uses the same isometric perspective as the original, but the new version's overall speed is much faster.

Superman [ Taito 1987, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

You control Superman (or a red Superman in two-player games) to fight and kick in a battle against the evil alien super-powers. Game alternates between fight/kick sequences and flying sequences where Superman uses his heat vision to shoot meteors and mechanical weapons.

T-Mek [ Atari Games 1994, HRC, JAMMA+, 6P ]

A vehicular combative fighting simulator where the player must defeat their opponents in a 3D arena. The player's view is from inside their hovering vehicle (MEK). Game play progression takes the form of an elimination tournament.

T.K.O. Boxing [ Data East 1987, HRC, unique, 2P ]

This is a boxing game where you may play the computer or another player. At the beginning of the game you can customize your boxer with training points to increase his punching power, stamina or speed.

TV Ping Pong [ Chicago Coin 1973, HTB, unique, 2P ]

This game is one of many variations on the "ping pong" gameplay. Two players compete in volleying a ball across the screen by moving paddles up and down along the sides of the screen. The first player to 11 (or 15) wins.

Tac/Scan [ Sega 1982, VVC, Sega G80 System, 2P ]

The player controls a fleet of seven ships through three stages: Armada Attack, 3-D Armada Attack, and a Space Warp Tunnel. The player can gain additional ships to replace ships that get destroyed.

Manouever your ship through a grid, avoiding and destroying Targ ram-ships for points. The deadly Spectar Smuggler appears after a period of time, shoot it for bonus points. Simple graphics, but gameplay is fast and furious. Lightning reflexes are required.

Tazzmania [ Stern 1982, VRC, Konami, 2P ]

Control a Q*bert-style character to clear rooms of "hoppers" using an 8-direction machine gun. Each room has a name, a unique type of monster attacking you, and the walls close in from all sides. A bonus room appears every third screen where you collect numbers for points. The Smart Bomb kills monsters and stops the walls from closing in.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles [ Konami 1989, HRC, JAMMA+, 4P ]

The famous four turtles fight incredible numbers of bad guys to save April O'Neil. Uses the Konami two and a half dimension approach to horizontal scrolling games. All players can join in on the game at any time.

Tehkan World Cup [ Tehkan 1985, HRC, Tehkan, 2P ]

A top-view 2D football (soccer) game with four-way scrolling movement and fairly realistic game play. Raise world cup etages to win it. The game is trackball operated with one button for shot and pass (powered by trackball inertia).

Another brawling game with odd polygon graphics and many hidden fighters. Has the usual moves, but no projectiles.

Tempest [ Atari 1980, VVC, unique, 2P ]

You control a yellow crab-shaped shooter that travels along the outside rim of a 3-dimensional tunnel, shooting enemies down the alleys of the tunnel while avoiding any coming down the alleys. The tunnel takes on many different forms, and the shooter has a special "superzapper" that enables it to kill all enemies present in the tunnel.

Terminator 2 [ Bally Midway 1991, HRC, unique, 2P ]

This is a twin gun game based on the movie <I>Terminator 2</I>. Shoot up Endo's, Cyberdyne and eventually the T1000.

Terra Cresta [ Nihon Bussan 1985, VRC, Nichibutsu, 2P ]

A vertical-scrolling shoot-em-up. Fly over islands shooting spaceships, ground bases and Tyransaurus Rexes. Destroy the special bases to release special power-ups that will increase your fire power. Use the Phoenix button to split your ship apart for increased firepower or become indestructible after the fourth bonus part has been collected.

Terra Force [ Nichibutsu 1987, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Guide your plane through several levels by shooting anything that comes along. Pick up "B" for bigger bombs. Pick up "S" for speed increase. Pick up "L" for laser firepower. Every level is divided in two parts. One part scrolls from right to left, the other part scrolls from top to bottom.

Tetris [ Atari Games 1988, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A puzzle game where seven different types of blocks continuously fall from above and you must arrange them to make horizontal rows of bricks. Completing any row causes those blocks to disappear and the rest above move downwards (completing four rows at once is called a Tetris). The blocks above gradually fall faster and the game is over when the screen fills up and blocks can no longer fall from the top.

Thayer's Quest [ RDI Video Systems 1984, HRC, unique, 1P ]

Thayer Alconred, last of the bloodline of the Elder Kings, searches five kingdoms in search of five relics which combine to form the Hand of Quoid. Thayer's adversary, Sorsabal, seeks to use the Hand's power to take control of the land.

Using the vibrating joystick, fly your chopper through different stages of combat. Over land, you fly through a city, canyon or industrial zone obliterating enemy choppers and tanks. Controlling one of two lumberjacks, you run madly around the screen chopping down trees as they sprout suddenly out of the ground while racing the clock and avoiding beehive throwing bears. Running birds are a bonus.

Time Killers [ Strata 1994, HRC, JAMMA+, 2P ]

A simple JAMMA fighter with weapons. Has buttons for each arm and leg, and also head. Fight in different time periods with weapons. Has variable levels of violence (i.e. decapitations).

Time Limit [ Chou Co. Ltd 1983, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Play a policeman searching for a bomb in a large, many floored building and the clock is ticking! Ride elevators, escalators and climb ladders. Shoot the villains who pursue you and avoid balls and other swinging obstacles.

Time Pilot [ Centuri 1982, VRC, Konami, 2P ]

The player's single jet fighter (placed in the center of the screen) shoots down waves of WWI Biplanes, WWII era fighters, 1970's era helicopters, 1980's era Jets, and Futuristic UFOs while trying to rescue fellow pilots and avoid bombs, missiles, and other enemy fire.

Time Pilot '84 [ Konami 1984, VRC, Konami, 2P ]

You ship flies over alien cityscapes, shooting down various ground and air enemy vehicles via bullets or locked-on missiles. Defeat the bosses with your guided missiles at the end of each level.

Time Scanner [ Sega 1986, VRC, Sega System 16, 2P ]

A true video pinball machine. Special controller on the front simulates a pinball "table" for shaking/tilting. Good physics.

Time Soldiers [ SNK 1987, VRC, JAMMA+, 2P ]

Travel throughout various time periods to save your fellow comrades. Collect power-ups to help you defeat a variety of enemies and end-bosses. Uses rotary joysticks to allow player to fire in a variety of directions.

Time Traveler [ Sega 1991, HRC, unique, 2P ]

You must navigate Marshall Bram through the different strings of time to destroy Bolcor. The laserdisc game is rather unique in that it uses a parabolic mirror to project it's images, thus creating a hologram-like effect for its gameplay.

Toki [ TAD Coporation 1989, HRC, JAMMA, 1P ]

This is a platform game in which you control a monkey. You can kill the enemies with your spit. Sometimes you can pick up some powerups that make your spit bigger or make you jump higher.

Toobin' [ Atari 1988, VMC, unique, 2P ]

Two guys on inner-tubes ride down a river throwing cans at things and avoiding obstacles to gain points. When you complete a level you get a beach party thrown in your name and the party gets bigger as you progress. Great music and gameplay combine for a fun two player game.

Top Gunner [ Konami 1983, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

1 or 2 players operate a jeep on a vertically scrolling field, the mission is to save POW's and deliver them to helicopter pads throughout the game. Your armament is a machine gun, and a grenade thrower, which can be converted into a missile launcher with bonuses.

Total Carnage [ Midway 1991, HRC, JAMMA+, 2P ]

Dual joystick shoot 'em up. Desert Storm theme. Player is attacked from all sides by the evil General Ahkboob's infantry, tanks and BioGenetic Mutants. Rescue reporters and civilians. Pick up 220 keys to gain access to the "Pleasure Dome" at the end of the game.

Touchdown Fever [ SNK 1987, VRC, JAMMA+, 4P ]

A close-up overhead-view football game with an energetic soundtrack. The CPU can be configured to operate as a two-player upright or as a four player stand-up cocktail.

Tough Turf [ Sega 1986, HRC, Sega System 16, 2P ]

Two neatly dressed heroes proceed through warehouses and urban areas busting gang members in a simple punch/kick/jump beat-em-up environment. Characters can move left, right, up and down.

Tournament Arkanoid [ Taito 1986, VRC, Taito, 2P ]

Colour game similar to Breakout, where the player's paddle moves horizontally across the bottom of the screen, bouncing a ball upwards into a changing field of 'bricks' in various mosaic patterns. Bricks are of different colours, while some need to be hit several times to be destroyed, while others are indestructible. During gameplay, some of the bricks drop power-ups such as: slow down, catch, enlarge paddle, or 'disrupt' which will bounce three balls back towards the playing field. Two other power-ups can be attained: Laser, which allows you to shoot out bricks while still bouncing a ball, and one which will allow you to warp to the next level by means of a small opening to the right of the paddle. Tournament Arkanoid is a cocktail table, with paddles and buttons on two ends, and when the next player is up, the screen flips to accommodate the player on the opposite end of the table.

Toy Pop [ Namco 1986, HRC, unique, 2P ]

A two-player, maze-like game where you must open jars and boxes to save a friend trapped on the final level. Various weapons defeat different enemies.

Compete against other players in various Olympic events. Bash the buttons as fast as possible to run faster. Use the action button to throw, jump, etc.

Based on scenes from the Walt Disney movie of the same name, this game has four distinct games per level: Lightcycles, Grid Bugs, Tanks, and the MPC Cone. All four games must be completed before you can advance to the next level.

Classic space shoot-em-up. You control a spaceship shooting enemies as you progress through each area and collect various power-ups along the way. Motherships to defeat at each area end.

Tsukikage (The Legend of the White Wolf) [ Irem 1988, C, JAMMA, 2P ]

Horizontal platform type game where you control a Ninja. Your Ninja collects up power ups so he can turn himself into two or three Ninjas which you also control. There are various weapons to choose from: sword, rope with a blade at the end of it, and grenades. Many different levels along with great graphics and sound make this a very enjoyable game.

Tumblepop [ Data East 1991, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Platform game using backpack to suck up enemies. Once enemies have been sucked up they can be used as ammunition. Game set in different countries with five stages per country. Irritating music.

Turbo [ Sega 1981, VRC, unique, 1P ]

Drive your car from a third-person perspective (above and behind) through town, through tunnels, around curves, and over bridges. Poor migration from scene to scene.

Turkey Shoot [ Williams 1984, HRC, unique, 2P ]

It is The year 1989 and mutant turkeys have taken over. As one of Chief Ludzia's turkey terminators, it is your job to make the streets safe once more. Feathers fly around in front of the screen as you complete a mission. All you have is your gun with grenades on ammo. Good Luck!

A turtle moves around a maze trying to save its children while being chased by numerous round bugs. Rescuing all the children by taking them home advances the level. Bombs are collected to use as weapons.

Turtles in Time [ Konami 1991, HRC, JAMMA+, 4P ]

Control one of the four Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles as you battle though different time periods (prehistoric to the future) in this horizontal scrolling fighting game. The cool "3-D" effect as you throw enemies at the screen and the funny speech ("Ooh, forgot the sunscreen!") make this memorable.

Tutankham [ Stern/Konami 1982, VRC, Konami, 2P ]

You are an explorer, running through a maze, trying to get keys and other objects that will allow you to get the treasure and exit to the next maze. Two-joystick game -- one for movement, one fires right and left ONLY. Also has "flash" bomb -- like smart bomb. A unique game but very difficult!

Twin Cobra [ Taito 1988, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A vertical shoot-em-up. Player(s) fly helicopters firing at air and ground targets. Collect power-ups (green, blue, yellow, or red) for better fire power. Fight a 'boss' enemy at the end of each stage.

Twin Eagle [ Taito 1988, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A vertical shoot-em-up, Twin Eagle places the player's helicopter against multiple attacking air and ground targets. Weapon and speed power-ups are available and needed since gameplay is much more difficult than average.

Twin Eagle II [ Seta 1994, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A vertical shooter with helicopters. You can destroy nearly everything on the screen.

Two Crude [ Data East 1990, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

The year is 2010. New York is devastated by a nuclear blast of unknown origin. Twenty years later the city is ruled by punks. A great excuse for punching and kicking everyone in sight. Standard side-scroller. Cool sound.

You are the pilot of a plane who must try to sink enemy ships by dropping bombs or shooting enemy planes down onto them. The goal for each level is to sink the ship before it leaves.

U.S. Classic [ Taito 1989, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A basic golf game that starts with a view from the tee that shows wind velocity, direction and distance to the green. Choose your club and swing by rolling the track-ball with the desired force and direction. Extra holes given for par and under par.

UFO Robo Dangar [ Nichibutsu 1986, VRC, Nichibutsu, 2P ]

A vertical scrolling shooter. Shoot and destroy ground and flying enemies. Destroy flying capsules and dock with freed components. Use transform button after each component to increases fire power. After three components you become UFO Robo Dangar and obtain the desolation gun. Now you can destroy the UFO hangers and dock for increased fire power.

USAAF Mustang [ UPL 1990, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Famous World War II aeroplanes battle in different campaigns across the world destroying the Japanese and German forces. This is a side-scrolling shoot-em-up with the usual assortment of power-ups.

Up 'n Down [ Sega 1983, VRC, Midway Flicky, 2P ]

3/4 view of your VW bug. You must run over the colored flags to clear the level. You can also jump on the opposing cars. On higher levels each time you run over a flag the color changes back. Watch out for open bridges and broken highways.

Up Scope [ Grand Productions Inc. 1986, HMC, unique, 1P ]

Kill the attacking sub hunter while wasting as many ships as possible. If you miss the sub hunter you go into a battle with it. The sub hunter will drop depth charges while you wait to fire a torpedeo.

Us Vs. Them [ Mylstar 1984, HRC, unique, 2P ]

The is a laserdisc-based horizontal and vertical shoot-em-up. The game features scrolling video with overlayed computer-generated graphics. Clips of live acting are interwoven into the plot: fighting off an alien attack of earth.

V'Ball [ Technos 1988, HRC, JAMMA+, 4P ]

Two-man teams play pro beach volleyball on a tour of the US. One to four people can play simultaneously on a four-player cabinet, cooperatively and/or competitively. On a two-player cabinet, two players must play in competition.

A competitive fighting game similar to the vast majority of titles released in the '90s. This is a Japanese game only.

This game is a horizontal and vertical scrolling shooter with four buttons that let you shoot in four different directions. In addition to shooting enemies, you can drive your ship through an "energy" pod that energizes your ship allowing you to crash into enemies without being destroyed.

Guide your brave explorer 'Winky' through the depths of different dungeon levels while collecting 'treasures' from each room and avoiding the dreaded 'Hall Monsters'. Shooting the various room occupants is not necessary, but it will add some additional points to your score.

Vs. Baseball [ Nintendo 1984, HRC, Nintendo Vs., 2P ]

Players pick from a list of teams in this Dual Vs. baseball game. Time-points are awarded per credit which are either increased with runs batted in or decreased by opponent's runs or just regular plays. The gameplay can be very frustrating because infielders may not pick up a ball at their feet since they are waiting for another player to come over and pick it up.

Vs. Dr. Mario [ Nintendo 1990, HRC, Nintendo Vs., 2P ]

Starting with a few colored germs in their pill bottle, players must rotate and stack two-colored pills as Mario throws them into the bottle. Four like-colored pill sections stacked on the same color germ will rid your bottle of that germ. The number of germs and speed of Mario increases with each level.

This fast-action target game takes you into the marshes with your trusted hunting dog at your side. He'll flush the ducks out from hiding. Then, it's up to you to bring them down and shoot your way to an exciting bonus round.

18 hole golf in which the player chooses stroke play or match play against a human or computer player. Game is set to allow a certain number of swings per credit. Player gains or loses swings depending on outcome of each hole.

Vs. Super Mario Bros. [ Nintendo 1986, HRC, Nintendo Vs., 2P ]

Mario sets out on a quest to free the Mushroom Princess from the evil Koopa and restore the fallen kingdom of the Mushroom People. The player character moves from left to right over a horizontally scrolling terrain. Avoid obstacles, destroy enemies by jumping on them, collect coins and power-ups and reveal several hidden items throughout the various levels.

Vs. Tennis [ Nintendo 1984, HRC, Nintendo Vs., 4P ]

Single or doubles tennis against human or computer players. Match is best of 3 sets. Game operates on both single and dual monitor cabinets.

Vs. The Goonies [ Nintendo 1985, HRC, Nintendo Vs., 1P ]

A whimsical platform game themed after the 1985 movie <I>The Goonies</I>. Guide Mikey through caverns evading mice and the Fratellis (or use bombs or a slingshot) to save your buddies who are being held captive. The game plays Cyndi Lauper's song <I>Good Enough</I>.

Vulgus [ Capcom 1984, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Standard space ship scrolling shoot-em up type game. No weapon power-ups, seems to be endless.

WWF Superstars [ Technos 1989, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Tag team wrestling featuring WWF personalities from around 1989. Each character can each perform his own powerful "signature" wrestling move. Game play culminates in a title bout versus Andre The Giant and "The Million Dollar Man" Ted Debiase.

WWF WrestleFest [ Technos 1991, HRC, JAMMA+, 4P ]

Players move in and out of a wrestling ring performing different special moves on each other to drain opponents energy to get the 1-2-3 count. Player can use foreign objects outside of the ring and can perform special moves such as Jake Roberts' DDT and Hulk Hogan's leg drop.

Wacko [ Bally Midway 1983, HRC, Midway MCRII, 1P ]

Captain Krooz'r "kroozes" around landscape and caves shooting monsters and avoiding collisions. Shoot two matching monsters in succession to make them disappear. On higher levels, shooting unmatched monsters creates "mutants".

War Gods [ Midway 1996, HRC, JAMMA+, 2P ]

One on one, no holds barred physical brawl between two super-powered fighters equipped with inhuman moves and projectiles. Fighting occurs in three dimensions as the game features an oversized "3D" button. First winner of two matches advances to the next opponent of many.

War of the Bugs [ Food and Fun Corp./Armenia Ltd. 1981, VRC, Namco Galaxian, 2P ]

This game should be familiar in two ways; it is the basic concept of Centipede interleaved with the all-too-familiar starfield of Galaxian.

Wardner [ Taito 1987, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

You move through the various stages battling zombie-like creatures collecting money and eventually rescuing the princess. Shop between stages to purchase health, time, and more powerful weapons.

Warlords [ Atari 1980, HRO, unique, 2P ]

The players use shields to defend their castle walls from the fireballs that ricochet around the playfield. Players can capture and catapult the fireballs at opposing castles. Fireballs destroy pieces of the castle walls they hit.

Warrior [ Vectorbeam 1979, HVB, unique, 2P ]

This game consists of a top, or birds-eye view of two knights fighting around two square pits. The game must have two players. Each player controls both the movement and sword of their knight with a single joystick. The object is to kill the opposing knight by hitting him with your sword or by forcing him to fall into one of the pits.

Warriors of Fate [ Capcom 1992, HRC, JAMMA+, 3P ]

Feudal Chinese warriors fight for their lord against an evil warlord who is wreaking havoc and terror. Beaten opponents drop treasure, books and food which rejuvenate the combatants. Big bosses at the end of each level attempt to prevent your warriors from achieving their goals.

Western Express [ Data East 1986, HRC, Data East, 2P ]

Travel along a train punching, kicking, and jumping over various opponents. Stages vary between running on top of a moving train or riding a horse and shooting things for points.

Wheels II [ Midway 1975, VRB, unique, 2P ]

Single or double player game containing no microprocessor. Players race their cars against computer cars, gaining points for elapsed distance before time runs out. Crashing requires the player to shift into low gear to start again (2 speeds).

Wild Western [ Taito 1982, VRC, Taito, 2P ]

A sheriff on horseback must protect a train, located in the center of the screen, from groups of bandits. Players must avoid running into obsticals, getting shot, or allowing three bandits to board the train. A bonus game is played between rounds.

Willow [ Capcom 1989, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

This is a scrolling adventure game following the plot of the Lucasfilm movie "Willow." As Willow, or Madmartigan (or both), the player(s) work their way through various stages, defeating numerous enemies and facing a large "boss" at the end of each stage ending with defeating Bavmorda, the evil antagonist from the movie.

Wizard of Wor [ Bally Midway 1980, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Player(s) go round a variety of line drawn mazes shooting creatures wandering within. Shooting all creatures will advance player(s) to the next level. Bonus creatures such as warlocks or the Wizard appear to be shot.

Wonderboy [ Sega 1985, HRC, Sega, 2P ]

A little boy ventures through Wonderland in this horizonal-scrolling game. There are four areas, each with four levels and end bosses. Walking and jumping depletes your energy so you must eat food found along the way.

Wonderboy III: Monster Lair [ Sega 1989, HRC, Sega System 16, 2P ]

World Cup '90 [ Tecmo 1989, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

2D football/soccer game with four-way scrolling movement. One button for slide tackle and low pass and another button for header and high pass. Choose from eight teams. Game play fairly realistic and moves easy to pick up. Worth a play.

World Series - The Season [ Cinematronics 1985, HRC, Cinemat System, 2P ]

The best baseball game of the era, World Series - The Season allowed one player versus the computer or two players versus each other. The game features excellent sound and graphics, spring-loaded joysticks for batting and pitching and extra base and go back buttons. High score lists the best batting average and ERA.

World Series Baseball [ Cinematronics 1984, HRC, unique, 2P ]

A baseball game that offered many more play options than previous video baseball games. The game used analog joysticks for precise control of swings and pitches.

World Wars [ SNK 1987, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A shoot-em-up where the player flys over landscapes shooting various formations of planes, UFOs, etc. Avoid the tanks and defeat the end-of-level bosses.

X-MEN [ Konami 1992, HRC, JAMMA+, 6P ]

Selecting from six X-MEN characters you fight various enemies scrolling from left to right. You can punch, kick, throw, and back-attack the enemies plus jump to avoid or jump-attack the enemies. Each character also has a unique mutant power.

Xain'd Sleena [ Technos 1986, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

You are an armoured, rocket-booted soldier, whose mission is to defend five planets against the evil empire. You run from left to right, shooting your way to the base at the end of each level, then tackle a left to right space ship stage.

Xenophobe [ Bally Midway 1987, HRC, Midway Mono Board, 3P ]

A horizontal monitor is split into three sections, one for each of up to three people. Players wander around a space station shooting as many Ridley-Scott-esq aliens as they can before health or time runs out; then it's off to the next space station. There are multiple weapon types, including a duck gun!

Xevious [ Atari 1982, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Player controls a fighter with guns and bombs that must infiltrate a highly defended area and destroy everything in sight. Overall goal is to wipe out the motherships that pop up periodically.

Xexex [ Konami 1991, HRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

Side scrolling space shooter. Blast your way through the marauding alien fleet to meet the boss man. The excellent backdrops, techno-music score, and meaty sound effects make it impressive. Despite this, the game play is OK too.

Xybots [ Atari Games 1987, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Run your human through mazes with a 3-D over-the-shoulder view. Shoot tons of nasty robots that are out to get you. Exit each level to progress to a new maze, with boss levels and the option to buy upgrades between levels.

Yie Ar Kung Fu [ Konami 1985, HRC, Konami, 1P ]

A martial artist armed only with his fists and feet attacks opponents with powerful limbs and/or weapons. Successful attacks deplete your opponents' life bars enabling your character to progress onwards in the martial arts tournament.

Zarzon [ Taito 1981, VRC, unique, 2P ]

You control a space ship that can be moved around the bottom of the screen. You fire at or dodge various things coming at you to progress through different planets.

Zaxxon [ Sega/Gremlin 1982, VRC, Sega Zaxxon, 2P ]

You pilot an attack shuttle whose mission is to strafe the enemy's "Asteroid City". Destroy fuel tanks, gun implacements, missiles, fighters and a large enemy robot. The game uses an isometric perspective that was a unique concept to arcade games of that era.

Zektor [ Sega 1982, HVC, Sega G80 System, 2P ]

The player pilots a ship whose mission is to liberate eight cities which have been conquered by evil aliens. Fight off three attack waves of defending enemy ships and moboids and fire through rotating rings at the alien to gain ships.

Zing Zing Zip [ Tecmo 1992, VRC, JAMMA, 2P ]

A shooter like many others. Shoot planes, tanks and a train. Very large bosses at the end of each level. Many power-ups like smartbombs, missiles and lasers. There is also some speech in the game.

Zoar [ Data East 1982, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Shoot oncoming planes and ground targets using your gun. Land on the air strip for extra points between stages. The game is an X and Z axis vertical shooter.

Zoo Keeper [ Taito 1982, HRC, unique, 2P ]

You control Zeke who must rescue his girlfriend from the Zoo. There are three levels or "adventures". Each level has its own task such as trapping the animals in the zoo, jumping ledges up the screen, and jumping animals to earn a bonus keeper.

Zwackery [ Bally Midway 1986, HRC, unique, 2P ]

Quested to save things. Jump around and preserve all the pages of Zak's "Book of Life" from the Gholum.

Zzyzzyxx [ Cinematronics 1982, VRC, unique, 2P ]

Move vertically through the gaps in a field of horizontally-moving bricks.
